  1. Good luck Hxtr. Hope to see you back sometime once you've had some time to regroup and gain some perspective. All the best, - Astronomer
  2. When he sleeps, he sleeps hard.
  3. Wick:
  4. My two goofs. Soon to have a third. Both are Border Collies. Wick is the older of the two at 9.5, Kippen is 4. Wick is super gentle and has no ambition in pack hierarchy. Our perma-puppy. Kippen is a very intelligent dog who loves nothing more than to flop on his back and curl up in your lap. My wife runs them in Agility competitions. Wick is a Champion, and Kippen has been to the Nationals twice, and he just qualified again this month. Kippen:
  5. Great news! Get yer ass better so we can crush our enemies, see them driven before us, and hear the lamentations of their women! Keep the updates comin. We\'re thinking of you pal!
  6. Palma Violets "Best of Friends". Reminds me of The Clash:
  7. Same here. I also use a script blocker plugin. No ads, no pop-ups, no embedded auto-playing loud videos.
  8. Hi folks, I went to make a donation this morning via the link on the main page. Previously, you could donate via your credit card as a one-off transaction through PayPal without creating an account. When I get to the payment page, this is the case: As of this morning, when I change my country to Canada, PayPal wants me to create an account first before I can pay with my credit card. I tried setting a couple of other countries and this did not happen. I do not want to set up a PayPal account and have my card information held by them. Any thoughts as to WTF is going on here?
  9. Good build! I like the unlocked Intel CPU's for overclocking - can't be beat. I'd use the 8-core AMD CPU in a server, but not in a gaming rig. The Intel is a winner there. I'm partial to Corsair RAM as I've had zero problems with the brand over several builds, and I'm an nVidia fan for video cards for the stable drivers (currently rocking 2x EVGA 680's. Frame rates kick ass but I still suck in game play :-) ), though from what I've read the AMD is a great video card. Edit: Agree on a solid SSD for the boot drive and a large-capacity drive for storage. Fast boot and game load makes SSD a requirement, not an option.
  10. I just heard what happened LOC. I'm thinking of you buddy, and hope that your recovery is as speedy as possible. Hang in there brother, you have lots of fellow Idiots in your corner.
  11. Congrats on the tags! Welcome, and see ya in the freezetag servers!
  12. Had one of these, and traded it in for an Element a couple of years ago. My wife needed more space for the dog crates and all the accessories she takes with her to canine agility competitions.
  13. Happy birthday Cimon!
  14. We have 2 servers, one with hop-and-shoot, one without. I prefer the challenge of the one without and I choose to play that one. Choice is a good thing and I'd hate to see us limit our choices.
  15. Gotta love pups! Luckily, ours learned very quickly what's chewable and what's not (Border Collies).
  16. Great job Bullet! Thanks for capturing the videos.
  17. Happy b-day Marauder!
  18. Ah! This explains what happened to me. The update royally pooched my system. I tried a crapload of things to recover and get back up and running. Oddly, a system restrore from an earlier image had the same issues: reboots, checkdisks running every time etc. I suspect part of the issue affected the drive's boot sector. My system needed a refresh anyway, so I wiped the partition and installed Windows 8 with "Classic Shell" to boot into the familiar desktop and add a Start button. So far, so good. Win8 without the new interface is actrually pretty snappy and has a lot of enhancements "under the hood"
  19. He thought Darth Vader was too harsh and needed a little, y'know, softening. The other attendees reacted as expected...
  20. Congrats! And don't worry about a factory overclocked card. It's been tested to work just fine at that frequency and you have a warranty. I've been overclocking for years - even cards already superclocked - and I have not lost one single card or CPU.
