OK, I have no clue what my new PC is doing. I was having some major CPU issues with my new GTX570 card, so I RMA'd the thing. now the new one is even worse. I tried it in my new system and in an old system, so I think it is a HW problem with the card. That is the good news.
The bad news is that my new system now has no Sound?!!! WTF! Oh yeah, and I had an SSD die also......
Ok, so here are the specs.
Intel i7 2600K
ASUS P8Z68 Pro Mobo
120 GB SSD as Primary Drive running on SATA 3 at 6.0 Gbps (COD4 loaded on this drive also)
90 GB secondary SSD (only SATA 2)
1 TB WD Caviar Black 64 MB Cache SATA 3 HDD
16 GB G-Skill Ripjaws RAM
EVGA GeForce GTX570 Superclocked Video Card
I am using the OnBoard Sound.
OK, so I was messing with the Graphics Card because it kept crashing. Then out of nowhere, my SSD that I kept my gaming programs on died. I hooked it up to a USB to SATA cable, but cannot even access it. I am going to RMA it since it is under warranty.
I put my old GTX260 card in and I can get graphics now, but my sound is still gone. I even pulled out both cards and am using the onboard video, but no sound. The driver is loaded and is up to date.
I was thinking maybe the MoBo was bad, since I am having problems with different components, but I don't think that is the issue, because I can still boot and use programs. I have no problem surfing the net. My main prob is that the GTX570 and now the Sound don't work. I just did a system restore, but that didn't help.
What am I overlooking???? Any help would be appreciated!!
