Lunkster is correct, great game, people like it, it's becoming more popular. I go out of my way to help people so good word of mouth is spread. I also did a few things at the inception of the server to help get it populated: 1. Advertised it on my Facebook gaming account (which has 5,000 friends {don't think there's a lot of crossover potential there, but what the hell}) 2. Googled "top Rust servers", then registered and advertised on the top 3 Rust server listing sites that Google returned. 3. Advertised on the Rust Reddit. 4. Advertised on the relevant Facepunch (Rust's creator) forums. 5. Advertised on a few other Rust gaming sites. Hopefully that helps, over time, to populate the server. The normal period for a map to last is 1 month. Facepunch pushes out an update once a month- first week of the month- which wipes most all servers, so I let the Facepunch wipe be the default map wipe date. So you have ~2 weeks until the new map; why not get in and get the hang of the game in time for the new map? See you in the server. ?

Hello fellow Idiots, here I bring you a simple instructional on how to enhance your computer's performance & health. These are things I, myself do; I find them great, safe & simple. As a disclaimer: Use at your own risk. 1. LET'S CLEAN THE CRAP FROM YOUR COMPUTER & OPTIMIZE I. To that end, download the free program CCLEANER. If this isn't something you do regularly, you may be surprised by the amount of junk it finds and clears: https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/download/standard II. Install CCLEANER III. Run CCLEANER IV. Click 'Anaylyze' V. Click 'Clean' VI. Find the menu on the left & click 'registry'. This will fix irrelevant entries no longer needed. VII. Click scan for issues VIII. Click 'Fix Selected Issues'....Click 'scan' & 'fix' again until it returns no issues. (Registries are like branching trees, requiring several passes to prune all the obsolete branches) 2. TIME TO OPTIMIZE YOUR COMPUTER SO IT RUNS MORE EFFICIENTLY I. DOWNLOAD ADVANCED SYSTEM CARE This program is an all-in-one computer optimization program. Other discrete programs may do an individual job better, but this tool has something for eveyone. https://bit.ly/2Qh4w02 II. INSTALL THE PROGRAM III. RUN THE PROGRAM IV. FROM THE TOP MENU, CLICK 'CLEAN & OPTIMIZE' V. CHECK THE 'SELECT ALL' BOX VI. CLICK 'SCAN' VII. CLICK 'FIX' VIII. FROM THE TOP MENU, SELECT 'SPEED UP' IX. CLICK 'DEEP OPTIMIZATION' X. AS A BONUS, WHEN YOU ARE READY TO GAME, ENABLE THE 'TURBO BOOST' OPTION ON THE LEFT TO FREE UP RAM & CPU RESOURCES. YOU CAN TURN IT OFF AGAIN WHEN FINISHED GAMNG 3. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD SPECCY TO VIEW YOUR SYSTEM'S MAIN COMPONENTS, THEIR MANUFACTURERS, OPERATING TEMPS, ETC.: https://www.ccleaner.com/speccy 4. UPDATE YOUR GRAPHICS DRIVERS: I. AMD: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/faq/dh-016 OR https://www.amd.com/en/support II. NVIDIA: https://www.nvidia.com/Download/Scan.aspx?lang=en-us See if that doesn't help, post a reply about how it did for you. Will post more tips in the future.

That's great info!...I don't know why it's not showing up when reverse alphabetical is done by clicking the header...unless you guys have a filter checked to not show empty servers... -
Was puttering around in the computer hardware sections of several websites last week & found this & decided to do it to my backup rig. For ~$15, I upgraded my backup socket Lga 775 rig to a quad-core Intel Xeon X5460 server cpu. Being server processors, they are binned from higher quality silicon than standard cpus, being there is an overabundance of them, they are a fraction of the cost, ($15 compared to $190 for a QX9770) & they can be overclocked to 4.0 gigs. http://cpuboss.com/cpus/Intel-Xeon-X5460-vs-Intel-Core2-QX9770 Here's a more detailed comparison chart of Xeon & lga 775 cpus with pricing: https://www.delidded.com/lga-771-775-cpus/ The only thing it requires is a simple mod: https://www.delidded.com/lga-771-to-775-adapter/comment-page-1/#comments

Yes, it's vanilla. (meaning unmodified to anyone wondering). I'm looking into the mods to get a feel for the possibilities; As I just started playing 2 weeks ago, I thought it would be a good idea to get familiar with the game before settling on a mod or anything else. Whatever provides the best value and fun for the most people is where I'm steering. Any and all suggestions/ advice are welcome. To that point, I switched from a standard 4k map to a quite smaller 2.7k map in the beginning since there were so few players as of yet; however, within 3 days of advertising the server on several websites & pages, traffic started increasing, with already a few regulars & people mentioning they've favorited the server. I began asking people who I've seen in the server if they had any suggestions or requests; almost without exception, every one mentioned/requested a larger map. They felt it was too small to play the way it was meant & that when the server started getting busier over the following weeks, the problem would only increase as it became more crowded, which would result in switching to a larger map. If this was put off until the end of the month or 30 day period as is standard from what I understand, it would drive people off to other servers with more accommodating map sizes; if the map were to be swapped instead after 2 or 3 weeks, that would also drive people away that had lost those 2 or 3 weeks of invested time. The best option was to switch the map yesterday, so that people only lost a few days, at most, of progress. The game is really quite the opposite of COD. Instead of spawning into a box-sized map with all your guns & ammo, respawning with everything after you die, & the map being over in about 30 minutes... You spawn into a large, expansive map; with nothing but a rock & a torch, having to work to collect the materials to craft your weapons & ammo, outside of looting one from some stash of some sort or icing another player; if you die, you lose your gun(s), ammo & everything else you had on you, necessitating running back to your body to collect it, if you can; if you weren't killed & looted by another player, which naturally makes you consider your actions more carefully; finally, the map lasts for 30 days, not 30 minutes. It's then wiped so everyone starts fresh with that map or a new one. Although some servers are available which don't wipe the map after 30 days. It's a fun game, that's why there's thousands of servers.

Nah...you put it at the very end of your bucket list...just in case. -
....then reverse the order of the server names in the server lobby list by clicking on the header @ the top of the list, & it will be near the top; if you leave the list in normal alphabetical order, it won't show up.

Some people have asked this question since I announced we now have a server. Here's a graphic explanation. The map lasts 30 days instead of 30 minutes:

These Dutch fellas & goofy name changes...stranger things have happened, I suppose....but you guys should seriously consider consulting some people about possible new names before pulling the trigger. LOL.

The server name is: XI Rust Server. It's up and running smoothly with what I think is a nice map. Open to suggestions on maps or whatever. Come play! It's fun!
