  1. 8 pm during the week is unfortunately too late for me, since here in Germany it would start at 2 am... And I have to work on saturday. On saturday (evening), I'd like to join a team.
  2. Have them now in my HLSW and watching it. If someone is online, I'll try to join.
  3. Ok, thank you for your information. I tink, somewhere in my backups, I still have a virus free NoCD-Exe but installed the game these days hopeing to find some players on the XI-gameserver. It's been about 15 years I stopped playing COD2
  4. Is there any difference between the CD/DVD version vs. the steam version?
  5. I've learned so much about the turkish culture, their relation to food / meals and solving problems which oly modern people have. In the big city (Eskisehir) it's a very diffrent world in the same land. Everything reminded me of the USA. Reclame, wide streets, the vegetation... and so much more. When we landed by plane in Ankara, coming outside the airport building, first ting I tought: Wow, back in the USA.
  6. My fuure wife is of turkish origin. Before Corona, we went to Turkey to visit her family. They showed me where she grew up, and HOW she grew up. A small village in the mountains, at the meanwhile 95% empty since most of the people moved to cities. The house she grew up is made of clay, without water connection and her father (second husband of her mother) installed 1 phase a few years ago. A fireplace gives warmth wich goes out sometimes during the night. In front of the house is the main fireplace. There is the biggest part o all cooking aktivities. And peolpe believe me, it is unimportant what they cook or grill. It all tastes incredible. When we went there, I had a longer walk around the village. I didn't her anything. No cars, no planes, no nating. I think I heard an ant farting. It was such a silence. The way arabic people /turkey people cook is very simple but tasty and, belive it or not, very healthy. Things / methods which are use in middle ages become poular again in our civil life. People seaching for them, but don't see, that some cultures still know and practice them. They practice a different way to celebrate their meals. Sit on the bottom is as normal as eating with fingers. There's nothing to make fun of it, since it's their way to live. And I like it. My future wife's moter has given us a plot of land so when we retire wi will move to Turkey. The climate is better than here in germany. We want to build a house on that plot and I will probably continue to maintain the house which my wifes parants have build in the mountains. Below you can see the village and the surroundings mountainvillage.mp4
  7. Indeed. For me, the best interpretation of this song. But more amazing are those "voice choaches" lol. She looks like she just got explained how s** with a man can feel like... Well or something like that. I've heard a lot of songs, due to co-leading a litte conerct aggentur (regional) about 20 years ago. But I never looked as stupid like all of the supriesed woman voice choaches. Another great interpreter I've seen live preforming. But look at that choach. 5 minutes longer and she probably could fly on her own using her arms as wings.
  8. If you have a Steam version, then install on new pc and change the key. Alternative: For 10 Euro using mmoga.de (legal) https://www.mmoga.de/Steam-Games/Call-of-Duty-4-Modern-Warfare.html
  9. Finally got it. I copied the installation files from DVD into a subfolder where COD2 was suppost to be installed. Then I right klicked the setup.exe and chose compability WinXP SP3 AND run as administrator. Installation was very quick completed. Patching to V1.3, I finally could join one of the XI servers. Thanks for help everyone. I think, the problem was, that I only cose to run as admin, to choosing both (admin AND compapility).
  10. Although I've read some articles in this forum, as well as some installation guieds on the web, I still have issues installing COD2 from DVD. I've read that the steam version shall work on PC and Win10. If I try to install, it freezes at that point when 'applications are removed' (I don't even know which one). The folder, where COD2 should be installed keeps to be empty. Any idea what's going wrong with my DVD installation?
  11. I use Facbook for the plugins of Newspaperfeeds and stuff like that. And I found old friends of 1984/1985 when i lived in the states. It let's me stay contact with them. My Girlfriend and I use the account together, since she's no so firm with it. She can stay in contact with her family in turkey. I'm an admin for a news/contact/sellers group of my hometown. I use WhatsApp and Discord to comunicate with my dauhter (lives in the same town with her mother) and my son from first marriage of my ex-wife, as well to communicate with my gilfriend during the day (smileys) or if nessesary to send some photos. And the crazy thing is: I use my cell phone to make phone calls... Sounds wired, but it's the truth.
  12. Exactly what I think about it. It seems to me, that Microsoft trys to copy Apple. I bought a PC with Win11 installed and the first thing I did, was installing Win10. The next two or three years, there will be noch need to cahnge the system software. until then, it will change a couple of times, updates and upgrades are available, and then it might be stable and all those discussions about requirements and TPM (in my case a dongle would cost about 12 $), will be for nothing.
  13. Here in germany, meanwhile it's duty, to install an over- and undervoltage protection in the house electricity with special components. And you can buy special multiple socket with a protection build in it. There are four categories: I up to 1,5 V, II up to 2.5 kV, III up to 4 kV and IV up to 6 kV. And for lightning protection there are three categories and several components which you can retrofit. Some examples below.
  14. In some situations (such as playing freeze tag) you come to a point, where it is nessesary to kill people from spawn to win. Otherwise they'll respawn their teammates. In Game especially in DM you respawn every time somewhere else, so it's up to you to get rid of the 'spawn killing' people by killing them. And last but not least, most of the time, you have a few seconds spawn protection, so again, it's up to you to run and/or hide.
  15. My department developed the layouts for the Fiberglass compsite, the rivet programs and the mill-cutting and drilling programs of the parts. Mostly we used Catia V4 and V5. By programing interfaces, we could load all models ()developed in France and the Netherlands) and set our points. Then, after finishing in Catia, we had a Mainframe in Bremen/Germany, which we used by remote, we compiled the output of Catia into maschine programs. From that mainframe, we were able to load those programs directly to different maschines in Hamburg / Germany, Nordenham / Germany, Toulouse / France or even to Eurocopter Donauwörth / Germany.
  16. I began as a truck driver all across mid and eastern Europe. One day i met a guy on AOL who offered me an education as an IT specialist spacialization programming. After the education I worked for Airbus Germany developing the A380, when I realized rather you live for the IT or have a sozial live. I choosed the sozial live. I studied IT netwok administration and finished with a bachlor degree, but still had to invest too much time with IT business. So I quit. I wanted to be part of the life of my children while the'd be growing up. I started an education as an electrician spezialization industies and facility technology. Added some more spezialisations, such as repairing lifts, solarparks, electric gates and some more stuff. I have all driving licenses and 2 of 3 parts to be an industrial high altitude climber and high rescuer. I am a supervisor for contractors as well. Very interesting job, and I love what I do. I work for a big parcel service, formed in the USA with 3 black / red letters with yellow background. In my spare time, since my children are grown up (the youngest is in 11th grade), I work for a foundation which helps children from troubled families, young mothers (under 18 o older and raped), homeless people and refugees to get a grip on life.
