    Make sure you turn off updates in steam, Right click COD4 and disable updates there I run my game without steam even though it's a steam game, Once you've updated the game to 1.7 and changed the .exe file make a direct shortcut to it mine is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Call of Duty 4\iw3mp.exe" I found the game crashes less often and is less glitchy after doing this

    Not sure what happens on the servers you play, but I've not seen or heard anything like it on FTag. The opposite in fact, we join together as a team and get the job done.
