Need to go to 1.7 Dont worry about PB since you will have to install that manually anyways.

I could easily restore the cod4 default jumping ability here at any time instead of the server bunny hopper wet dream.

My WD Black 2TB failed the various tests with too many bad sectors after about 5-6 months. The tests would get to a certain point then either slow to a crawl or come to a dead stop. However they quickly replaced it with an rma 3TB drive so I have no complaints.

Never spent much time looking at those seagate hybrid drives. Are they actually significantly better than a good hdd or just a gimmick?

Depends what you want to do with it. Some things benefit from the 8 cores. Others from the higher per-core power of the i5/7. Another thing to consider, based on cost, is wattage over time. 65w for the i5 6600 and 125w for the 8350, if that is what you are looking at. That extra 60w can add up in electricity bills. Also takes better cooling for all that extra heat generated. Both even more so if you do a great deal of long term processing at full load.

I assume you did that to screw with him. That looks far far smaller than default settings. -
Ok yea anything made within the last few years is good to go. Each BIOS is handled differently but somewhere is the setting to enable it. Probably in the same place as raid control.

If you use it only for the OS and programs that dont take up 50gb of space each... meaning games... then 256 should be good. But if you do want your games on it then 512 would be essential. Personally, I have games on a secondary HDD since they take up so much space and I dont use them much. Dont know about that brand but never had a problem with my samsung. Just be sure your mb can handle achi. It should. Also, you will need to either reinstall the OS (better in the long run) or change out all the needed drivers.

Yea I hate that one also. However in that map I tend to use combat medic for the 12 seconds of spawn protection if that side is being pressed. Because its a relatively small map that 12 seconds is long enough to get out and nearer to one of the closer enemies trapping you and shooting him. Combat Medic + Lightweight it very useful. Include 3X emp and you could potentially get quite a few of your teammates to do the same thing and sneak up on them.

Open your console and change these two settings as needed. 36 is standard sized. Find one that works for you. I assume they could go in your configs as well but never tried. waypointIconHeight "36" waypointIconWidth "36" -

ok, some uploads. This time, so far, people are not getting frozen again. First thing you will notice is on match begin. After the match timer ends you will see a short hud element telling how many rounds you need to win. This is for the future and maps that do not follow the standard requirement of 5 rounds to win. So if a specific and unique map only requires 3 rounds (out of 5) it will tell you. EMP nade anti-defrost should now only be 1/2 the range of the normal EMP blast. 150 units. But a good throw is still going to get you. The Counter Measures mine. It should always disable the car, hardwired or not. EMP nades are unchanged. Sees players with 'stealth' (being counter measures). If you trip the mine stealth will be disabled for 60 seconds. 'Recharge' time is 10 seconds, down from 30. However as before it will only work twice before being removed unless first picked up and placed in another location. Various bug fixes. -

Yes thats what was meant by 'banzai'. The enemy is doomed unless they can find and kill you first. Otherwise whats the point. Might as well just stand there and smoke your last cigarette until you are extra crispy. Currently, mines are removed once you 'spawn' after death and seeing the ragdoll etc. Meaning after you are spawn frozen. -

Well, there needs to be protection against EMP nades of some kind for those that want it. If they choose hardwired to protect against emp or cars then they dont get stealth to protect them against mines or any of the AI weapons like sentryguns and helicopters. I am sure people that call those in are unhappy with enemies running around with stealth. I have been going through the countermeasures mine to make sure everything is set correctly and will check out the car. -

It isnt low primarily because it ends the round, unlike normal TDM. Make it much lower and it would encourage even more spawn camping. The part about enemies nading themselves, that also has always been around with the idea of keeping the enemy from scoring off of you. Could be any explosive weapon. Maybe someone cornered in a building by five enemies. In the normal Last Stand option some kill themselves early to avoid humiliation kills by stun grenades. Yes knowing a nuke is coming the enemy might also rise as one and scream banzai hoping to get you first. Especially if they are down 4-1. Lowering 10 seconds to 5 or something isnt a good idea either. It would essentially make that banzai charge pointless and remove the fun. They also wouldnt be able to marty themselves by running towards you with a nade hoping to get you before the nuke hits. So there really isnt much I could do about it other than make suicide impossible somehow. Which invites a bunch of other problems. But even then it wouldnt stop them from going to spectate until the next round either. Kinda funny tho if the whole enemy team eats their nades out of spite. If the sever had the 'negative score' option I'm sure I could make it so eating a nade while a nuke is inbound worth negative 500 points. -

Hmmm. There are two settings. Remove on death and remove on spawn (persist through death). Not sure which one the betty/clamore uses but I dont know which one the server has always used anyways. edit: Both are currently set to death on spawn. Since I never changed this setting afaik I assume its supposed to be this way. Which in fact is the default. However if the admins tell me differently I will change it. -
Yea. It should be balanced and not overly big but the idea is to offer a little variety. A short map or two that doesnt benefit run&gun but a different play style. Something where its not just run-shoot-die-repeat. Use more dispersed spawns instead of the forced S&D spawns. If you try and camp the enemy spawn one of them might outflank you and pick you off. Might work. Might not. But yea if there are too many people that actively refuse any map where they cant fully r&g... maybe they dont know how to play differently... then its going to be difficult at best. I will add this. Assuming BO3 tools are cod4/5 style, and include the promised server files to run them anywhere, I have been considering freezetag for it but ***only*** if the very idea of that gametype was totally revisited. A clone of OW2 has zero interest for me. No sacred cows. Could be no tubes. Could be no bunnies. Maybe spray and pray is severely limited. Nor health so low that you die when your little finger gets shot off. That part is stupid and always has been. No hit icons. Zero complaints that something is different and it needs to be so-called *fixed*. If people want nothing but a clone someone else can do it.

There are a lot of maps that generally arent popular. Not because they are bad maps but because they take too long to finish and often go all 9 rounds. So they arent in any of the rotations. But what if that particular map was best out of 5 instead of 9? Or even best out of 3? One example that comes to mind is citi_farm. Its big and open. However the rounds likely go into overtime. A diversion from the same ol same ol but only 1/2 as long. Worth a try? Other maps not in the rotations that might be worth checking out?

map rotations cod4 for mw2 1.46b9
Sammy replied to dadda2's topic in Call of Duty 4's Call Of Duty 4 Discussion
Checked those out. 91101 generates script errors due to some missing variables for map effects. Balakan, too many models. Monastery might work. Its a little bigger than some of the larger rotation maps and dark but if limited to 3 of 5 it shouldnt get boring. At least for large matches. -
Terrible, those puns are. Yeeees.

Ok I will check those out. Bigger maps certainly arent as action packed with mayhem everywhere. But I do know people here get bored with them if played for an hour. -
map rotations cod4 for mw2 1.46b9
Sammy replied to dadda2's topic in Call of Duty 4's Call Of Duty 4 Discussion
Hi guys. Just to add that the reason I requested for keeping restart as late as possible until late in the evening when traffic is low is so I can keep both of the game logs and look for issues. When I get them I will post. Also, unrelated to above but map related, if there are any maps you know of... and not in any of the current rotations... that would be fun if rounds were limited to best of 5 instead of 9 (first to reach 3 wins) post so I can check it out. It would only be a very limited number since 9 is the standard and will not be changed. Going to experiment to see how that would work in terms of server gameplay for the kind of maps that tend to be skipped because they usually take all day to get a winner. -

Small update. Checked out report of 3-tube loadouts. That isnt happening. However, scavenger seemed to be giving one if the launcher was empty. This is the method used on MW2 but not others. So I added it to the 'explosives option' for ow2 scavenger that controls things like frags which is disabled by default. As it is here. I will check out to see if I can include an option for fewer rounds on specifically preset maps. Hopefully I can do it with simple script updates but we shall see what I can do. Yes... I hate the arena map as well and had no problem nuking a couple rounds due to requests to try and shorten the number of rounds needed to finish it instead of, potentially, the entire 9 rounds. -
They do not. In 'vanilla' cod4 health is 100. Here it's 30. Wearing the jacket all explosive damage... regardless of source... is reduced down *to* %25. So 100 damage becomes 25. Considering the max damage of most explosives is 256 (more for frags but much less for tubes) close explosions are still going to kill you with 30 health depending on obstructions and range. Just as you die if shot in the foot. Which is kind of silly. Foot shots should not be on par with head shots. But health amount is another topic of discussion. Smaller font was better.
