  2. Nobody is forcing you to play it. And be nice. Because you dont like it doesnt mean its a POS. You could of course go make your own exactly the way you want it. I have some links if you want them.
  3. Just to clarify, how the standard game works, silencer attachments do not alter minimum and maximum possible damage compared to the other variants. However the damage fall off from max to min is faster. Same damage modifiers etc for the different parts of the body.
  4. The flyer had the usual pronouns. Mr/Mrs/Him/Her/etc. But it also had Ze and Zir. WTF is that? Had to look it up. Who thinks up this shit?
  5. Yes this is actually a thing. Saw the notice posted in the back room at the store. Has to do with gender identification and some such. While I am always of the mind 'to each his own' when it comes to gender identification and that its none of my goddamn business to say otherwise, did someone actually feel a need to think this up? Can I suggest an International Gamer Handle Day? Maybe that exists as well.
  6. This is very true. However it is often ignored by many, to varying degrees everyone, when it suits their personal agendas. And not just political, albeit that tends to be the poster child of such things, but life in general. Which is why we are a nation of laws not men, as the old saying goes. Because large groups of people are usually pretty stupid, not all that far removed from mobs, and controlled solely by agendas not examination of said variables. Been awhile since I heard it. And its in my music library somewhere. But a great song is 'The Mob Rules'. And unfortunately its true.
  7. I will make a deal. Give it to me for free and I will never post about any of your sales again. Neither positive nor negative. Yes in popular vernacular that is called a *bribe*. You see, there is a method to what I do and an end goal. Maniacal laughter follows.
  8. Unfortunately many deaths like his happen every day. Same conditions. Same results. If you are elderly, with a bad immune system, then vaccine or not your risk of dying from covid is much higher compared to the general population. It is the same for influenza. Your risk is higher yearly flu shot or not. Do we or do we not agree on this?
  9. Colin Powell was kept out of all the important discussions about Iraq. As we came to later learn. He was given all the *data* and told to go to the UN. Some true some not. As a soldier he followed the orders of his commander in chief. The man himself said he suspected there were ulterior motives around but he did the job he was asked to do. And yes, soon left in disgust. In any case, may he RIP.
  10. Im sure these days someone would find something to complain about that show. I think the early 70's is when the various parents groups started pressuring cartoon makers to change everything. And here we are.
  11. Depends on the subject and whether or not the properties on both sides of the fence are populated by total dumb asses. Best thing to do is sit on the fence so as to not dirty your shoes by stepping in the crap they leave all over their yards. And then hope the landlords give said dumb asses the boot. edit: Yes I currently have a water cooler.

Did someone let the air out?
  13. For what its worth. https://www.forbes.com/sites/rrapier/2021/09/26/revisiting-the-blame-for-high-gas-prices/ Does this seem like a reasonable analysis? Or should we look to whatever talking political head is on CNN or FOX? Or is Forbes a total liberal Biden cheerleader? Of course its chairman and editor in chief is a big Trump supporter. But who knows.
  14. Im sure it did go up. Then again, it went down when the pipeline was reinstated earlier. Caused by politics back then? Nah. Awhile ago several oil companies here in CA chose to have maintenance done on their refineries. All at the same time. Gas went up a *lot* and took forever to come back down even after they were restarted. Oil company conspiracy? Many people thought so. But we got through it just fine and didnt take to the internet and chat forums to rant on about it because it hurt our political sensitivities and feelings.
  15. I will have to check that site out myself. Might build something in the middle of next year. My last two CPUs (previous and current) were Intel. Never had a problem with them and always reliable no matter what I threw at them. I am not an overclocker etc though. I will have to investigate more about the current state of affairs for AMD. My last one worked very well but I did have to throttle it down somewhat for things like rendering because it got very hot and, of course, meaning the fans were blasting away like a jet liner. In the end, whatever gets the job done in the fastest and most efficient way. Like everyone else, all things being equal I also look at cost/performance ratios and such. However, I am also of the mind that if something isnt broken, dont fix it. If the difference in price between matching Intel/AMD systems is say $2500 vs $3000, that $500 is not an extreme amount of money considering what you are buying and how much you will use it. So might also be best to stay with what you are most comfortable with. As before and most important, depending on what you want to do now and later. On the other hand, that $500 could be put towards a pretty good NAS, drives not included. Now that I have had my consumer level Synology for about two years I wish I had gotten the next grade up.

I am sure all agree that covid has stressed out everyone everywhere. And it shows. Funny though how all the arguments revolve around human-made concepts of 'freedom', 'fairness' or 'rights' that only exist in our minds. It seems our *gift* of intelligence has too often overridden any natural instinct for individual survival. Too many argue over delusional thoughts that dont exist anywhere in nature. When deciding how things would otherwise be (not currently are) you have to assume no medical care. No hospitals. No doctors. No antibiotics. No such thing as cold and flu medicine. Nor any of that for whatever other medical conditions you may have. Of course many places in the world fit that description. But also, from the beginning no lock downs. No travel bans. No quarantines. No social distancing. No max occupancy. And of course no masks. Just the individual body vs the virus. Where would we be now? When we cant even come to an agreement on that answer it shows we are in trouble as a species.
  17. Its being said, that at this point, might as well wait for the 40xx cards due to come out late next year. In which case, hopefully, the supply chain problem will be better and the 30xx prices will come down. Then again, their prices were lower than previous gens on release. Making a lot of people mad of course. So who knows.
  18. Be sure to pays Uncle Sam them taxes on your forms.
  19. Trump? Nope, Ali was the first that came to mind. As it should have for anyone. Why anyone would immediately think Trump, even his supporters, is beyond me.
  20. No complaints. Nor saying anything about it being overpriced or anything like that. If anything, just said it was comparable to other sellers. Just telling it like it is when it comes to buying any piece of computer equipment anywhere or from anyone. As a general matter including from myself. Calm yourself and dont take it so personally. Its my two cents to spend. I dont need permission to spend it.
  21. I did the Boo-Bash thing one night and IHO it wasnt worth it. In the past it used to be more of a party and festival. But I suppose because of covid its now just to provide lower crowds. But it was but still pretty crowded. However I did get to go on a couple rides several times each over the last 30-45 minutes. Maybe would have been worth it if it applied to every park, with more desirable rides, not just the MK.
  22. Because someone whines doesnt mean they arent right. In any case, so long as the dealer is reputable... and will stand behind any problems that arise... then pay what you want. That said, I assume its not newegg itself but a third party. 30x series are available at the price you sold it.... more or less... for the moment. Only caution I would add I suppose is whether or not warranties apply if purchased from a third party that isnt a valid reseller. Usually the fine print says no. Had to RMA a new one, past the usual 30 days, with an original bill of sale so personally I am careful about warranties.
  23. The sirens at home in the Bay Area. A nice respite from them. Not that I live in Compton. Lets see. Galaxy's Edge as an environment was very well done. Great attention to even the really little details. Also, because of the layout and design once through the single entrance you cant see or hear any other parts of the park no matter where you are. To keep the immersion of a space port going. No Jawa's to be found though. Rise of the Resistance is kinda overrated as a ride but its immersion was very good. There are a few things they could easily add that would make it even better. Such as three or four more Imperial officers *directing* the prisoners/guests. One had her controlling role down pat. At least as far as you could get away with at Disney with kids around. Did it once, but didnt really have a strong desire to do it a second time due to the wait times (often 2 hours). Smugglers Run was much better as a ride. Oga's Cantina was the best part of Galaxy's Edge though. Which is why its so hard to get rezzers for it. Right at the bar both times I was there enjoying my evening drink before calling it a day. Great bartenders. One of which had the 'annoyed' attitude and actions (like the one from ANH) down pretty good. If you ever plan to go, get at least two dates as a way to cap off a long day of walking and waiting. They do have non-alcoholic options if you prefer. Unfortunately, because of Covid, all the usual character meet+greets were not there like Darth Vader. Which was a shame. But I heard that they are working on trying to restore meet and greets everywhere as soon as possible, maybe by the big Christmas celebration. There were two stormtroopers perfectly in character, guarding a ship, interacting with the crowds. I was taking a video of one and he stood there staring me with a 'who the fuck are you' vibe. Whoever was inside the Chewy suit was always fully in character in his mannerisms even when listening to his 'handler'. One thing I 'didnt' do was the little cup of blue milk however. Even for Disney it was horribly overpriced considering it is just coconut milk with, I was told, some kind of almond sweetener. There was an alcoholic version, with rum I think, that cost twice as much.

The funny farm? With the nice young men in their clean white coats?
  25. Just have to say, and maybe people should look into this perspective, after NOT being able to even see or read this thread for nearly two weeks (clan only and I didnt have my pwd) I am a much better person for it. So, have fun all.
