  1. That video is too funny. Yes Benny Hill just gives it that extra bit of flair.
  2. After much deliberation I went with the LG. It was on sale %30 off so that is a plus.
  3. My second monitor is due for an upgrade as well so might go for that first this coming monday and continue to wait and and see what happens with gpu's. And I have my property tax bill due as well. I understand the supply problem in general with everything chip related. Some of it is understandable, some of it is nothing but greed. Likely partially nation-state related as well. Who knows what countries are part of the game (no pun intended). So its frustrating with gamers and indies alike. The nearest microcenter is in southern california. We used to have a big Fry's up here but bye bye they went. Actually its pretty stupid that they dont have one near Silicon Valley of all places but have four in NY. Not going to drive a 12 hour round trip for a video card. But kudos to you for having two near you. Speaking of monitors, which would you go for if you can get a reasonable deal considering each ones capabilities and such? Ive had good luck with asus and samsung but never had an lg or acer. More for gaming and it would compliment the one I already have for production. Also, cannot say I am up on the 'sync' thing and while I have an nvidia now, who knows what I will have in the future. https://www.amazon.com/LG-27GL850-B-Ultragear-Compatible-Monitor/dp/B07TD94TQF https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VG27AQL1A-Supports-Compatible-DisplayPort/dp/B088MLC8PH https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-XB271HU-bmiprz-2560x1440/dp/B06ZXZ3QBD https://www.amazon.com/SAMSUNG-2560x1440-Adjustable-FreeSync-LS27AG500PNXZA/dp/B096YMQ3C8
  4. Let him have his 15 minutes. Then, *next*!
  5. Pretty much any game where I make more kills than deaths. Which isnt many.
  6. Recommended pre-built companies to check out that are reputable and stand by their products? Other than the ones already mentioned? Do they handle parts that go bad or do the buyers of their systems?
  7. The difficulties in getting a modern GPU at any semblance of a reasonable price are too numerous to count. So it led me to looking into this option since sooner or later it will be time for a system upgrade anyway. However even then, I would still want a lot of options to choose from for parts. I also dont want any lockout bs or bloatware like dell does. It seems system builders have a greater shot at getting their hands on them. However even then the simple economics of supply and demand come into play. Leaving out the aforementioned scalping. The card makers say it wont be until next summer (2022) that things stabilize. But they said the same thing about things stabilizing around this previous april or may. Which of course didnt happen. So I have little faith in their predictions.
  8. Anyone have a PC built to order? Good experience? Bad? An option in the back of my mind that I am considering instead of building another one myself.
  9. Sega Genesis. Gotta have Sonic the Hedgehog. And of course if you are doing emulators to begin with gotta get those arcade games. There are a lot of fun ones that never made it into the US.
  10. I am mostly sure that the old method of using the older installer with cod4 as an option no longer works because the necessary files to install the services and such are no longer there. So the installer quits without doing anything. But that was a few months ago.

Are there staffing shortages to handle all the likely increased traffic? Seems to be a common thing these days as we all try to recover from what covid did to the various economies. When all the usual home deliveries from all the online stores hit during December spike I wonder if they will be able to handle it. Might be advisable to buy gifts earlier this year. Well, that and because of the expected shortages.
  12. Unless the messenger and one that created the message are the same person.
  13. This is why people should avoid social media. Nothing but a fucking rumor-mill. Certainly avoid all the so-called 'influencer' nobodies that start and spread them.
  14. I dont do facebook. At all. And neither should you. What the hell is a face book anyway? Sounds like something out of a bad horror movie.
  15. No need to stoop down to phrases like 'enemy of America', or 'enemy of the state' as Trump liked to say, when it comes to political disagreements. Now if Pete were to make a post calling America 'The Great Satan', well, thats another kettle of fish.
  16. Yes dear, I love rom-coms and they are my favorite kind of movie.
  17. "I would like to sit here. Out of curiosity, did you get vaxxed?" "No I did not, and its my choice." "Thats cool. Everyone has the right to choose. Thank you." "Just so you know I did get vaxxed. I also have covid right now but it hasnt made me sick at all. So Im not worried about it. Still cool?" And yes, cant believe anything on tik tok. Its worse than youtube.
  18. a womandate? Persondate? Otherdate?
  19. This is true, or it isnt: If you get the shots, you can still get covid but your chance of dying is 1 in 10,000 instead of 1 in 100. Dunno the exact numbers but it is a valid statement or is it not. If this cannot be agreed upon, one way or the other, then all that follows is specious. Too many people dont want to answer if they think it is inconvenient towards their goals.
  20. There are important legal questions to answer about mandates for federal contractors. Usually it ends up coming down to whether or not the particular agency has the power to do it. Most of the time it is found that it does, but sometimes not. Or maybe whether or not they simply followed the proper procedures to do it. Crossing t's and dotting i's and such. That said, this is a pure political battle. Questions about laws and freedom are a distant second, if that. As for giving an inch and taking a mile, the first example that crossed my mind was the republican pushed Patriot Act. 20+ years and its still alive and kicking. We will never see a greater example. I hope.
  21. So, in a sense, you are a conscientious objector in a time of war. Which of course you have every right to be.
  22. As I work on my first attempt at a Dagobah Slug Slinger from Galaxy's Edge. A couple different recipes can be found online. Never made ginger syrup before and its pretty darn good.
  23. Tracking someone is considered by some people to be stalking. Hmmmm.
