Other measurements, not official of course, take into consideration total medal count of all athletes. So a team of 15 players counts as 15 medals. Which would make winning hockey matches that much more important.

Just want to repost to ask everyone to use Audacity for their recordings and use the tips above to get the best results. The WMA recorder and format is not suited to this purpose and recordings come out noisy and distorted. Getting the best source sounds is also important because of the need for applying filters or additional sfx. Its not just dropping a raw sound into the game.

You can do "throwing novagas" instead if preferred. One of the other stock dialogs is 'gas out' but that is just weird. In general there are four categories of sounds: Battlechatter, as above. Also the quickmessage "on me!" type sounds. Awards ("Sentrygun ready for deployment", "doublekill") Killstreak activated announcements ("Friendly B2 strike inbound") Objective announcements ("Domination", "Freezetag", "Take no prisoners", "Capture the objective") All of those together is a lot so the idea is that each should be distinct voices from the others.

Use it to see what ambient sounds it picks up and see if you can find the sources and eliminate them. Computers are the worst especially with fan noises. Maybe cover temporarily with a towel while recording. All unneeded electronic devices in general should be turned off. Keep the mic 2-3 inches away from the mouth. If this isnt possible, such as a headset, remove the set and hold it slightly away. Keep back from walls and corners to avoid reverb. If the cord is long enough stand away from the computer. Adjust the gain so the sound is not muddled nor does it blow out the mic. Record it all in one long stream and not a bunch of little ones. Have a sheet a paper with all the lines. Start the recording. Speak into the mic using different variations on the dialog and what you like. Experiment and feel free to improvise. Last but not least, anyone can read lines. Remember that you are actors maties. edit: And in case anyone asks, a good male/female mixture would be great. It doesnt have to be a male Marine that says "Enemy AC130 inbound".

Yes Unreal Tournament is a good choice. Its an older game but loads of fun and plenty of mods to keep thing fresh. Quite a few games block LAN play and/or require Internet access to even start the game.

Wanted to add: Audacity is the preferred method with wav files since it is a much better recorder and when you play it back you can hear if levels are too low or high. Also for compatibility.

Assuming this all works out and I can fit it all in it would also be great to eventually do this for all the killstreak dialogs also (RCXD inbound etc). The dialogs would be specific according to the nationality of the team. A bit problematic for Spetznaz and Opfor depending on how they should be handled. Native tongue or English with the appropriate accent. Either way would be best with a native speaker of both. I have been kind of waiting for the standalone before thinking about getting it but from what I read it wont even reach beta until... maybe... next Christmas. Admittedly it is a very big job for a small studio.

I would also think the cop would get on the radio and ask his supervisor what to do instead of arresting a firefighter doing his job at a car wreck. Its just common sense really.

Often if heli nodes are not set up correctly the heli will leave. They more or less work like a chain from node to node. If one of them doesnt have a target node to go to then it considers that as a flag to leave the map.

Versions? Patches and all of that? cod4/5 are both 1.7 I think.

In that game how often do players turn on each other? I would find that annoying and its one of the things that would keep me from buying it later if it happens too much.
