Pretty sure the timing is the same. Yes 50 is the max you can get from defrosts. Since the armor defrost is new it will take time to see what values should be set for it. If its too little then there isnt much point to it. But neither should it be too high. Unless I am mistaken armor is now 10 points per defrost. So if someone defrosts 5 teammates, for 50, he should get some benefit for his team play. Considering a typical round is 35-40 points of damage not including location modifiers, or 70 for sniper rifles, 50 points of armor isnt that much. Also considering the armor doesnt regenerate. But as said before it makes stopping power a much more useful perk to have. Also means you are not going to kill another player by shooting him once in the arm or the foot. Which is the stupidest part about hardcore. IMHO hardcore is only there for games with players that dont want to bother with getting torso or head shots. As for hit locations, for those that dont know, in the game engine if you shoot an enemy at his side a shot at the torso area will often hit the arm. Which is logical. Something to keep in mind when shooting enemies moving at right or left angles relative to your position.

On the other hand I am sure those that have armor love it. One of the problems with hardcore is that players can be killed with pea shooters. Increasing health for everybody isnt an answer. But giving the option for armor to those that want it... at the expense of some other useful perks... is better. Besides, it now makes stopping power or explosive damage valid perks to have. Otherwise there is no point in even including them in the game.

The guns are fine. The ACR is no longer a noob weapon. Yes I know about the nade defrost problem. Uploaded a fixed script. Not sure if its online yet.

Well lets see.... Betty quick-prone to avoid damage is a standard ability. Both in the mod and stock cod games with it. On the other hand Betties have a 360 degree blast not the cone of a claymore. Nothing changed about the RPD from stock. Grip and perk 1... I dont understand. It has alway been this way since 2007. Hit boxes have been hard coded into the game engine for a long time. This is because of people hacking it. Bunny hopping is annoying but a standard part of the game. Besides with practice they are not too difficult to shoot. After all they cant dodge while in the air. Freezetag is a TDM style game not Sabotage.

I know about the sentrynade bug. SAM is the same. Fixes coming. Had no time this weekend to work on much. Yes points-based streaks have been discussed a little but doing such a thing would have to be all or nothing to be workable. Cant do it for just the car but airstrikes and all of that. But then it also becomes a mess to work out because there are so many ways to get points.

Adblock and noscript are two of the first browers related things I install. And no Java. If something needs Java then I dont need it either.

Interesting. How are they going to handle this in the long run then? I assume all copies will have to be pulled from the shelves. Otherwise if purchasers cant install PB the game is unplayable.

Just to add about the older ACR, which I have said several times. It was balanced as an M16 replacement. Meaning little to no sway. Hyper accurate. And most important as a 3-burst weapon. Which is why it got the nickname as a 'laser beam'. Change that to full auto with no others and it by definition becomes unbalanced. Two options. Keep it as a 3 shot. Or add some sway. Pick one.

Real sniper servers require a special breed of player. You may not get a kill for 10 minutes in a match that lasts for 60. Maybe none at all. Most players, especially casual, dont have the patience for that.

In this particular mod it is worth it to set up one class with an smg of your choice, lightweight, s&g, 3X semtex and a smoke. Also the RC. If they are all spawn trapping you then it is often possible between the nades and your gun to get 3 kills. Find a place for some cover and spam them. Then use the RC to defrost three or four guys. I see that happen all the time and a team that only has one player left comes back and wins. Every one you get has to be defrosted first, requiring attention from his teammates especially if they have to move to do it, and when finished he starts back at his own spawn. Others have asked for what you propose and I have politely said no. Otherwise spawn protection is used as a means to sneak up on opponents or stand in the open. Then to get a shot off the moment spawn protection runs out before he even knows you are there to defend himself. So I added s&g and the RC defrost ability. Spawn protection, as the name implies, is supposed to be totally defensive and allow you to leave the area to find cover. When it runs out if you are out in the open still you would likely be running anyways and your weapon lowered.

Actually Duke is pretty accurate both hip fire and ads at mid ranges. He has hip fire as a perk. But this server, I think, doesnt have reticles enabled for anything. So that makes a difference. ADS is a bit like stationary turrets. Its not truly at the center but below it. Like everything else it takes practice. Edit: I dont know what Rugger has the RC armor set at but it is a 3-kill streak after all. And you are shooting a fast tiny car with a pack of C4 strapped to it.

The RC and air attacks are about the best I can do. COD4 does have all the usual vehicle functions but did not make them available to multiplayer. It really would have made things easier if they did. The RC itself would have been a vehicle. I am testing out a defroster sentry however. It is not a new function on the sentrygun but its own weapon. So it cant defend itself but lots of armor. It still has a ways to go because for some reason it shot through the bus on Bog. When its ready it will be uploaded to one of the other servers for testing.

Eventually cod4 will go the way of ut2k4 as far as the player base, except they still have servers I think even after all this time. Puts Act to shame really. But I'm not buying another cod to play mp. Not even bf the way it is now. Maybe not in the future considering how fast most players moved from 3 to 4. Wont be too long before they move from 4 to 5 whenever that comes out. Base game + DLC, again. And no custom stuff. There are other mp options already out where the game allows for great customization and modding but few people will play them. Its hard to know why, except maybe that most people dont like trying new things. That is unless it costs them $60 bucks + $50 more for DLC. If it costs money they must have it and play it. If its $10 they dont even bother. This coming from a gaming community that cried like little babies when the base game went from 50 to 60.

My guess, you can still connect directly by entering into favorites. No different than a LAN server I suppose.
