We have it set to a 5 seconds of spawn protection and you spawn invisable. Its like that so you can get out of the spawn killers area. Or do what I do spawn and run towards the spawn killer and kill them. Having said that some maps are real tight and we have no problem pulling a map out of rotation if it causes to much grief. So please help us help get the server working right by watching if its a certain player or a certain map that seems to cause the grief and we will do what it takes to make it right. And when you do up date it just use the HD you have and at worse you will have to call god over at microsoft to get it registered again. The way it works is everything in your computer has a unique id number on it and MS looks at it everytime it checks your windows OS id if you change to many peices it asks you to reregister. I should mention both ways work you justhave to try till you do it the same way the original was made. Settings such as mipmaps or np mipmaps dtx 3 or 5 or 1 . Also make sure you keep the same name of the iwi from start to finish.

Try running your game in window mode. type this inyour console /r_fullscreen 0 then /vid_restart to reset your video card and when it crashes you will see the error box. From what I can guess its probably from how your saving your dds. Hackeklaus the answer is yes. Please add snypir1 and labob13 to your x-fire snypir's the 3d man and very helpful. He's an admin over at cod utility's and a great guy. Sirurts alot the tools and the game are one in the same once loaded. If one screws up the other probably will too. I use 3 hard drives for all this stuff . I find cod2 tools work better and the ass manager works better in XP. But it still all works in windows 7 or vista.And on a daily bases I use win 7 . So to answer you it depends on what OS your using and if you have UAC turned on. So what you using ? Deejay no talent what so ever. You have seen many maps that are grey boxes. Mine are bit different from the rest but mostly because so many people make the same map. So I would say some form of construction or Architectural skills to build a house or city block. Next is patience and time lots of time. Anybody in WAW can tell you when I'm involved in a map I have very little game time . It does take hundreds of hours to make 1 map. you have to imagine it start creating it then there's a wack of problem solving and map error correction. For quicker maps there are alot of prefab's buildings already made for you you just have to texture them and place them in a map. I can't find the link at codu but I have a bunch and the tools come with a bunch. Same as models couches chairs tables and so on there all in the tools. Once again start small a house a barn and work up to a full map. I find it relaxing. I have no idea why

Ah cod2 doesn't have the .25 grid. Select the wall duplicate it turn it into nodraw or your texture and then place it right back on top of the texture you duplicated and make it 1 unit big. Keeping it flush withthe other texture. Does that work ?

DXT1 what game you doing this for ? Most times you should save it as dxt5 with mipmaps if you can
