Ok I just read these 2 post he doesn't need a new computer he needs a MB some Memory and a HD .He has the rest power supply vid card and a box to but it in. In this group I'm sure we have that. I'm in with a 500 gig sata drive. I can even pre load porn I might even have some ole mem around althought it going to be old -
Get a copy of umbuntuhttp://www.ubuntu.com/desktop/get-ubuntu/download and create a live disk for it. Load it in your dvd drive and boot off of that drive. It it loads and everything looks fine its your HD. This is one of the fastest ways to see if its hardware of software issues. After that test let us know the results and we can take the next step. P.S> sounds hard but it acually makes the disk for you and it is free.

I don't know my world at war folder is 11.4 gig with an additional 5.3 gig of maps. But if you don't mind reloading the maps sure toss them I also do love the start fresh idea. Just seems like a waste of bandwith . Maybe take them out of the folder and place them in a back up folder.

They might not be in the current map rotation but they might just be readded depending on the mood of said admins. So you would just be reloading them instead of admin hunting,
