Somebody asked, "Why smart?". I was told you had to train the vines to climb. Huh? OK, I hung a nylon rope down and placed the runner of the vine on it. Nothing, so I wrapped the runner slightly around the rope. Next morning the runner had wrapped itself around six inches of the rope and was climbing like mad. D'oh, that's cute. Did the same thing with the rest, and they're all headed for the sky. As far as a business venture, I'm extremely leery of advice given on agricultural matters. When I hear "all you have to do", I get a little gun-shy. My wife & I love visiting the wineries in our area, and every single proprietor has told us, if they knew how much work was involved, they never would have started. Same thing here. We'll try this, and I'm sure we'll encounter the pitfalls shortly.

Home brewing possibly, mostly trying to see how much of a pain these things are. I'm willing to devote a quarter to half acre as a nursery. Use home as a base for rhizome production & transplant to an off-site field. We have a few microbreweries close, and it would be nice to offer hop cones on a production basis.

Friends talked about starting a hop garden & I said, that's enough. Time to start doing it. Here's a pic of our little babies climbing their temporary twines. Four Cascade vines have taken off from rhizomes sent from New Mexico.

And don't we all know how excited you get after a good spawn rape map. I'm sure you run to the bathroom to "settle" down. Do you wave goodbye to the kids after you drop them in the pool?

My opinion is, and has always been, a word is just a word. When it's empowered by the political correct group to be MORE than just a word.....well, you have thought & mind control going and the first ammendment goes into the garbage bin. When I was growing up, the Stars & Bars and the Swastika were just bygone symbols of defeated nations, and as such were powerless. NOW, they are banned as powerfull statements of racist beliefs. That takes discussion out of the equation and you have mindless emotion leading the charge. "N" word? C'mon, that crap started with the OJ trial and was laugh-able then. Lots of words offend me, but nobody seems to mind. Nobody yet has been able to define the parameters of Hate crime. Leaves the door open for prosecution based on whatever the current political mood calls for, rather than law.

Oh, she's a cute little self-propelled manure spreader/grass mower. Our family farmed, and I have a LOT of livestock memories (most not fond....lol) Enjoy! She is a cuttie.

No Kapt, I switched from XP Pro back in May. Came back from a short vacation & XP wouldn't boot. Boot sector was F*cked up Beyond All Recognition & I had to boot under a Linux kernel to save crucial data off my old hard drive. While things were down, I downloaded a trial version of Win7 Pro to see if my system could handle the switch. Yes, but COD4 suffered a little frame-rate wise under 7. Ordered a 32 bit copy of Win7 Pro, loaded onto my 300 gig HD, and went back to gaming. The Opteron was identified immediately under BIOS, and Win7 installed the necessary drivers to operate as a dual core. One reboot later, I'm running COD4 @ 50-90fps 1440x900 resolution. Suits me, I still intend to build a new rig, but time constraints w/work are robbing me of play-time. I was content to run XP for a decade, but was missing out on DirectX improvements and it was time for a change. Wish now I had purchased the 64bit version of Windows, but whatta ya do. Makes yer decisions on the fly & regrets later.
