Howdy, won't mean much to the power users, but I swapped out my aging AMD64 3800 single core for an Opteron 180 dual core. Running @ 2.4ghz, it certainly breathed new life into the old socket 939 motherboard. Played COD4 last night with all graphics maxed out (1440x900) and it ran sweet. Guess it's time to install WAW again. Everything ran lovely under WinXP, but Win7 taxed the old Athlon, and I didn't bother to install anything past COD2 & 4. Nice to see a cheap upgrade have dramatic results......for once.

Un-installed AVG this afternoon. Removed safe-search toolbar. Giving Avast a try after 7-toes' recommendation. AVG hijacked my home page AGAIN after manually setting preferences with intercpl.cpl. Might try Avira if Avast doesn't cut it.

If you have time, read "Bodyguard of Lies" by Anthony Cave Brown. It details the British espionage efforts throughout the second world war.

Howdy, did a clean install of Windows 7 professional 32bit. Installed all updates, including service pack 1. Installed IE10 & AVG as anti-virus protection. Very irritating, AVG constantly wanted to change my home page & default search engine to AVG safe search. Command window & inetcpl.cpl got me to IE preferences & set default search. Removed AVG safe search. Why the F*%$ do I have to do this in the first place? Also had to disable Adobe Flash's crap to keep pop-up ads from opening on every browser tab. Dammit, what's the use of doing a clean install if you immediately have to clean up a load of bilge from third party installations.
