  1. Happy Birthday hxtr! Today is yours to waste as aimlessly as you please.
  2. Happy Birthday Princess.
  3. Happy Birthday Wolf, enjoy!
  4. Happy Birthday Toes, have a great day!
  5. Congratultions Mausi!
  6. Build a house out of cards and see how well it stands the wind.
  7. Jack Elam, Walter Brennan, Stuart Whitman, Slim Pickins.....maybe, but Chad Everette? Burt Reynolds? Ain't they too young for serial westerns? Not that I would remember these, of course, just for historical argument.
  8. Alright folks, visitation tomorrow. Funeral Tuesday. Going to be something to survive.
  9. @@Bama can't agree more. Been driving F150's since 1994, and am so proud of Ford for not bowing to the Federal government when they were showering money everywhere. Still am not so pleased @ Ford for dropping the 300 six from their engine line-up, and selling off the transmission division to Mexico. What do you do? Absolutely nothing is 100% made, or assembled here anymore. Hard to be patriotic when your own politicians and corporations are selling the ground out from under your feet.
  10. I'm with Bama on that. My wife & I rented all sorts of vehicles on our driving trips, and we seeked out rav4's. Best driving, roomiest, and fuel efficient suv around. You won't be sorry w/Toyota. Currently own a Caddy SRX, but I'm not in luv, and it can go.
  11. @@Go0fLo0p, always wondered how people survived things like this. Now I can clearly see, and they ( the successful ones) stand out now. Like Sam said, you blunder through best you can, it's over before you know it, and you have all the time in the world to reflect afterward. But you can't fail her, she hard the hard part, you can't stumble on the easy side.
  12. I'll tell Blownaway thank you with a trip mine later, feeling up for a game or two. Thank you everyone for your kindness. Thanks Loader, for some dumb reason Lori got a kick out of meeting you, go figure. http://www.hurstfuneralhomes.com/notices/Lori-Brophy That's the direct link to Hurst Funeral obits, so you don't have to download the text document. Feel free to light a candle on their website. Here's a picture of Lori sitting in front of the Biltmore mansion in Asheville. Gonna be a blast setting up her easels for the visitation, we have a mountain of pictures from everywhere we wandered. I couldn't sleep this morning, and in my aimlessness wove a six foot long four pleat braid with double wall & crown knots on the ends. That will be laid as a wreath under her hands. Only the hospital folks will know what it means, because I was forever knotting and braiding while I paced their floors.
  13. I'd like to tell my >XI< friends something personal. My wonderful Wife passed away at home Tuesday morning, with her mother Patricia and I holding her hands long after she died. It was an experience that can only be acknowledged by those who have gone through it. Most certainly it has affected Pat & I, and we will never be alone, for the host have honored us. Pat says we were awake for 38 hours straight, can't say she's wrong, because I didn't notice. I've enclosed a copy of the obituary, penned by Lori's sisters Carla & Lynn, and our nieces Brigitte & Kailey. Can't describe the avalanche of events that took place in the last three weeks, too much happened. Our decision to bring Lori home from UW Madison was made after no reasonable hope was offered by the teams of doctors tasked with her care. Hospice of St. Margarets brought their girl home, and we were swarmed with visitors for the last ten days. I thank BlackBart for his support, and for the well wishes and prayers offered on the thread he posted. For myself, this was a storm that couldn't be avoided. Back wind the foresail, reef the main, and put the helm hard over. All that could be done has been done, time to trust to providence, and ride the fury hove-to and battened. 14. More like the result of two different cultures that should NEVER have been mingled. WTF are our politicians thinking?
  15. Happy Birthday Boo-lay! Have a great day!
  16. Happy Birthday!
  17. Happy Birthday Nitro!
  18. Happy Birthday Loader, have a grand ol' day.
  19. Yeah, Happy Birthday BB, like Bud said!
  20. I thought Quasars gave off their light from the superheated gases being driven into the black hole. Massive compression and horrific velocities, combined with friction create the brightest objects in the heavens. Or not, theories change daily, like holy underwear.
  21. It leans more toward "what" is he Bart. Feel free to guess.
  22. np Loader, prayers continue.
  23. A Guinness for breakfast doesn't sound half bad.....you can keep the slimey corned beef, never did care for it, cept' in a Rueben. From a fookin' Brophy!
