I would have to agree. Tossing your tags down is a statement, and probably not a demonstration that wins loyalty. Harry, you aren't the only one that has gotten annoyed/blind-raged pissed off. Walking off for a month or so is a far better solution, and most of us have taken that route rather than tearing the chevrons off our sleeve.

Yep, had to pull off Interstate 24 in southern Illinois from blinding rain. Made our way up Interstate 57 and encountered Semis in the ditch, wheels up. Wind was awful. Saw wreckage scattered across farm fields down by Mattoon. Wasn't a pleasant trip home, but we made it intact. Welcome back to Illinois.

Yeah, baby steps. One of our prominent business men ran for, and got elected to, our state's house of representatives. Gary Dahl is one of the most ethical and moral men in our area. He came home after two and a half years fed up. Gary said it was a pointless waste of his time, everything in Springfield is beyond repair. What struck him was the absolute contempt career politicians show for their constituents. " If you're dumb enough to work for a living, you deserve to be fleeced" is the attitude. Good luck dude, I wish you well, any success is better than sitting on your hands and complaining.

Be careful what you wish for. I did the same thing. Sat on our village board for 4 years, massive learning experience. Did manage the opportunity to take (and pass) the wastewater operators license. The level of stupidity & corruption will appall you. Not just in your own community, but all the way up the ladder. That's why I have nothing (NOTHING!) good to say about our politicians or their decisions. Currently on the village board, we have no one with a college education, two people unemployed, and two who have filed bankruptcy (one is the head of finance). Sad, truly sad.

LOL, we use nothing that doesn't go through our softener & reverse osmosis first. After seeing & meeting the morons that run our water department, I ran tests on the tap water available. PH off the scale & harder than a witches' tit. Really? Be advised, if you value your health, you'll look into things and take no one's word for the "quality" of your drinking water. And the Illinois EPA isn't to be relied upon as a quality inspector. Asked for a plant inspection, and they had the vendor that's responsible do an inspection on themselves. Wow, wish I could grade my own paper. Bottom line, it's your health, and the health of your family.
