Big news! A GameStop employee ran his mouth and showed a CoD:HQ member papers indicating Zombies will return in Black Ops. HOAX or truth? GameStop is known to say anything to get people to buy games, truth or not... But these scans actually look pretty convincing, wouldn't you say? He asked the guy if there was more information on these limited editions, and he handed him a pamplet of 4 pages stapled together. These pages included a lot of information about the limited editions that were just announced, and we honestly believe these are as legit as can be. But we also don't really trust every stunt GameStop pulls, so let's be careful about saying Zombies are confirmed right about now. On the papers it says the following: "Four exclusive Zombie Maps from World at War updated for Black Ops engine ($15 value)" You be the judge of it yourself, and let us know on our forums what you think this means! If true, it means that Zombies will be returning in Black Ops and that those who purchase the collector editions will also receive the 4 Zombie maps from World at War. It's not yet clear what the the World at War Zombie maps look like or how different they will be but it is clear that they have been updated to fit in with the Black Ops engine. Considering this new engine has a lot of enhancements », we can only think of how awesome these updated maps will be. Better visuals, incredible photo-realistic lighting, huge draw distances, explosive destruction and effects, mind-blowing character details and texture streaming all give us a mouthwatering taste of what to expect. Not to forget that these engine improvements also include massive changes to the physics, jungle, water and fire technology. This and the possibility of new weapons and more makes us want to hear the official confirmation from Treyarch NOW. Either way, it seems pretty certain right now that Zombies will be in Black Ops, old and new. But if this GameStop talk isn't enough to convince you, Best Buy are also confirming Zombies. Bashiok stepped into the battlenet forums today to just clarify a bit some of the buzz that has been going on lately over the hotly debated Battle.net2.0 features. Cross-region play, Bashiok lets us now, is something a bit more complicated to have working just fine given the current Battle.net2.0 infrastructure, but they’re working on this already and yes, you should be able to play over different regional servers without actually having to buy multiple copies of the game. This feature should be available shortly after the game’s July 27th release date Blizzard Quote: Getting people online, playing and interacting is obviously the overall goal for the Battle.net platform, and that includes allowing people to play across regional boundaries as they have in the past. Unfortunately, there are a multitude of challenges we have to overcome due to the unique regional account and billing options that didn’t exist in the past. But those hurdles aren’t insurmountable, and we are looking into solutions that will allow interested players to obtain access to other regional versions without having to buy another full copy of the game. Those solutions are something we’re currently planning to have available through Battle.net Account Management within the first few months of StarCraft II’s release. Before that solution is implemented though, you’re correct in that you’d need to purchase a US copy of the game on launch day to play in the US region.

Call of Duty: Black Ops. This matches the release schedule already seen for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 downloadable content, which has launched first on the Xbox 360 then followed roughly one month later on the PlayStation 3 and PC. This deal covers all Call of Duty titles through 2012, including Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops, which will be released on November 9, 2010 for the Xbox 360, PC, PlayStation 3, and Wii.

Can Black Ops really top the sales and success of Modern Warfare 2? Activision seem to think so... Yesterday, Activision held their Q2 fiscal earnings call and Call of Duty was a talking point. They were keen to stress how much Black Ops is so far beating Modern Warfare 2 pre-orders and that the marketing budget is so much bigger. Considering Modern Warfare 2 was meant to have one of the biggest marketing ever, we can only imagine how they can top that with Black Ops. A Multiplayer trailer would be good right about now, right? Activision's COO Thomas Tippl mentioned that Black Ops "will release on more platforms than ever before" and that it continues to "pace ahead of last year's record setting Modern Warfare 2 in terms of per-sales and consumer awareness metrics". Modern Warfare 2 was the biggest entertainment launch of all time so it'll be difficult for Black Ops to succeed that, but pre-release signs are so far looking promising. The guy that every gamer loves was also talking during the call, but who you ask? CEO Bobby Kotick of course. He stated that Activision is backing the games' launch with their biggest financial investment in the company's 31 year history and that the game is not just for hardcore gamers. He then went on to describe how the game has incredibly broad appear and that it features a lot of functions that will be unique to the core consumer. With other shooters releasing later this year such as Medal of Honor and Halo Reach, Black Ops will face tough competition. However, Kotick believes that these shooters from major publishers aren't the only competition and that he hopes Black Ops will succeed and reach new audiences. EA are one of many publishers trying to control this problem now ever since they decided to introduce their "online pass" method. Every EA game will come with a code that can only be entered once, this code allows the user to play Multiplayer and also offers bonus features and bonus content. According to CVG » Activision are the latest publisher trying to control the situation. Thomas Tippl said that they are increasing the importance of its DLC to 'limit the supply' of pre-owned games. Activision said that they are still looking at "various possibilities for greater participation in the used-game business" and that the best idea so far is to provide "additional content and therefore limiting the supply to used games". Therefore, it appears that Black Ops and other Activision games could provide additional content and possibly their own "online pass". Hopped in what game if I may ask. the game isnt the same if you join a modded-server-modded server. Anything can be made in this game and >XI< uses all their feedbacks to make it better. Oh I hoped in the Hardcore server not last night but night before not my cup of tea. I will just catch up on some COD4 wanna play the new mods there and play more MW2 till BlackOps gets here.

I played a round with one other player I will have to get on with more players. Very cool mod capture the flag type of game. I just have to get use to doing the perk and weapon set up. Is there going to be a custom class that we can use or do we get stuck setting up weapons and perks all the time?

Well I put it this way I came from a clan that was lets say a bunch of nut huggers. When I found the XI servers I liked the fact everyone was friendly and spoke how they felt and didnt let bs stand in the way. Thats the reason I joined XI and thats the reason it will be XI till I Die.
