Ok for those who dont know in the hardcore game type if you have more than 3-4 team kills the server automaticlly kicks/bans your for roughly 5 mins. This is a server setting which we have no control over on the ranked servers. So if you get kicked/banned this is more than likely why. If you cant join after 5 mins. then I would come and post an appeal to find out why. Also you may have been kicked cause your in-game name didnt reflect your website name if thats the case plz refer to Steam Profile Name

The server may have crashed and reverted back to is default name which I believe is A New Gameserver Black Ops. So if you have something like that in your favorites list that is our server just reverted to its default name.

When you have the multiplayer screen up goto Operations. Under Operations you will see the Create AClass Just click on it and have fun picking your weaponry and buying attachments. Hope this heps.

How to set your profile name in Steam First off load Steam At that time your friends list should load Click on Community Home under your name A new page pops up now goto the right side of the page and click on edit profile At that time the Edit Profile page pops up And on that page you can edit your profile so that your forum name and ingame name can be the same or Look for the Steam Icon in your task bar' Right click the Icon and goto settings Under the friends tab you can also edit the profile name to reflect your forum/in game name

This seems to be the fix for the fatal error. Went all day without a fatal error in game. So if your getting this error try the fix and see if it works for you. And post it it did or not and I will keep looking for you on a fix for it. But at the moment it worked for me.

So far so good went 6 games and no fatal error. Will keep posted as I keep playing and let you all know if the fatal error reappear.

Found this on a website will be testing it here shortly or even tommorow: I made an adjustment that I think has solved this issue for NVIDIA cards. There is a setting in the NVIDIA Control Panel. PREREQUISITE ============ a. Install the latest drivers for your video card from the official NVIDIA site. INSTRUCTIONS ============ 1. Right Click your desktop. Goto NVIDIA Control Panel. 2. Expand "3D Settings" tree group. 3. Click "Manage 3D Settings" Global Settings 4. Set "Threaded Optimization" to "Off" 5. Apply changes. That's how you do it for NVIDIA cards, I'm sure there is a similar setting for ATI, if somebody would be so kind. Now, obviously this is a temporary fix until a patch comes thru, but I too was crashing about every 20-30 mins and this seems to have stabilized the game, I haven't crashed since.

deerejon PS. on the first day I had the game i loaded it, kinda excited, started it up...played a little sp to get aquainted then decided to check out mp...i switch, see a combat training choice...select it...and it loads what looked to me like a mp server...nice... i get in and i see allot of the same clan tags and figure that i got logged into a clan server where they all got the game and are playing...so i grab a machine gun and into battle i go....and i am just a killing machine...their running around shooting at me missing, i am getting the drop on em like crazy...i am checkin maps, lookin for good spots, start climbin things...killin killin killin...i am jumpin offa roofs and stabbin....getting all kinds of levels and awards...after about and hour...i start thinkin...why dont these guys look up?? i mean i was climbin and killin em and they were running past me never lookin up... Then i notice that no one else except me and these [3arc] clan dudes are ever in here...they are the computer generated players...i was offline the whole time......roflmao....what an idiot... I was getting fatal error after fatal error if you was in vent you would of heard me say I Fuckin hate this game over and over each and everytime I was in game I would get it. But I read some where to try something called GBoost. I ran it and I was able to play wthout an error it may of been a flook but its worth a try. Maybe it turns something off in the services that is causeing a conflict. GBOOST Found here
