    @@BigPapaDean Download the drivers for your Extreme 3 board from the ASRock website. Please find the link in my first post. ATI chipset or not isn't your problem right now. The motherboard has neither an ATI nor a nvidia chipset. Regarding the BIOS update: From my point if view there is no need to update the BIOS. Most BIOS updates are not critical. They only provide new or updated features for hardware management. If you don't have a problem, don't update it. "Never touch a running system" You shoul only do this if you get in trouble with your new CPU.

    @@BUDMAN Sorry m8, but ASRock had been outsourced from Asus in 2002 (according to the German Wikipedia article). According to the English version it "was founded in 2002" Regardless, the drivers are definitely different. And if the model no (970) is correct: this board has not a nvidia chipset. In none of the listed revisions. @@BigPapaDean Can you use the tool" Speccy" and copy & paste you MB info here?

    At first you should download the correct drivers for you motherboard. I think you'll find them here (if you have one of the three listed Extreme versions: 3, 3 revision 2 or 4) http://www.asrock.com/support/download.asp?Keyword=970+Extreme&Type=&Socket= As far as I know ASRock doesn't use NVidia chipsets on this series.
