Thx for the find Blk, I do love my wwii stuff, tanks and planes, as we sponsor B17 "Sally B", 1/2 hr away from where I love at IWM Duxford, home of the Spitfire, and first based used by american fighters also during wwii with Thunderbolts.
War is never easy, all think they are fighting the good fight for the right reasons on both sides. I ave read about these guys on storyboard there, there only escape was to try and climb higher from the German fighters, or dive like crazy and try and outrun the 109's if they could.
I really hope the bravery of all wwii servicemen is never forgotten, kids these days could learn a lot from them, 18 yrs old, and some pilots/soldiers/navy personnel were younger, lied of their age to serve.
This attached was at a base about 15 mins from me.
In about 4 weeks is Flying Legends, ww1 and 2, planes for a full days, walking the flightline and flying also.
great to see these planes flying and information also.
