I wish there was a way to know how the story ends. It would be very interesting to see if these two kids got better grades and ultimately made it through college or university. Their father might think that he is justified in giving his boys “Somali warlord” haircuts to teach them a lesson. But is he really?
They say that fear is the greatest motivator of all because empowers people to accomplish things in life. However fear is a double-edged sword; in some instances it paralyzes the person or triggers in them long term, unexpected psychological problems, deviant behaviors and ultimately failure. We don’t really know what these kids are really afraid of. Are they afraid of losing parental approval? Are they planning in their minds how to do better in school? I doubt it, but I might be wrong.
