I have a John Deere I bought almost 14 years ago and if I washed it  and waxed it then it would look like brand new. This was the cheapest model I could buy since at that time I couldn't afford any more mower..... If I could do it over I would have spent more for a fancier model and made the payments....

I have a lot of trees in my yard and I don't bother picking up any branch that is one inch diameter and smaller... I mow and bag it!!!

My neighbor is on his second Craftsman in 10 years or less......And his deck mows at an angle all the time!!

My Deere has never had to have the deck adjusted..... the only thing I have done in 14 years is put a battery in it, two sets of blades and just last fall I had to replace a mower deck spindle for the blade.

Cry once and smile the rest of your life... a little maintenance and it will treat you right for many years.

John Deere 25 hp I mow 1/2 an acre around 25 trees c/w hills etc, etc. I also purchased a 44" snow blower which I used 2-3 times every week since December this year. This set up is 5 years old and I have had no problems. Look at the transmission on the JD and compare any other model. The transmission is bigger and has more cooling fins. If you buy it at Home Depot you can have no Interest or payment for 1 year.

Harry you won't regret a Deere purchase.  I've replaced a Cub Cadet (MTD) with a 48" 22 Hp Deere and it's incredibly better cut and ride.  Keep the deck leveled and you will have a beautiful North Country Lawn.
