The scope of their problems is beyond my comprehension.

They are dealing with 3 catastrophic events at the same time, the earth quake, the tsunami and the nuclear crisis.

Any one of which is problems enough alone.

Regardless of anything in the past I truly wish them well.

My wife and I will be making a charitable donation but we have not as yet selected the charity.

Lots of scammers' out there who prey on the misfortune of others. We often usually prefer small direct action charities as opposed to something like the Red Cross.

i feel ya bro!...just wondering if u are gonna donate for humans or animals?...if i recall correctly in a past post u said u didnt donate to katrina victims but to the animals cause u cared for them more (or somethin of that nature) and u didnt want to get into a scam...so u gonna donate to save there pets like katrina or u gonna donate to save a humans?not like katrina....regardless of ur answer its kool as hell that u even donate!I MEAN THAT TOO!....great post here shamu..i love seein how peeps feel in situations like this.

In Katrina, yes we did make contributions to a animal welfare group. We also had the luxury of our next door neighbor's daughter researching the charity because she lives in New Orleans and is also a dog lover. I also, within myself, found little sympathy for the people of New Orleans. Much of what I read turned me against them.

In Japan, if one could be found I would consider it. Just do not know if animal care has much of a priority in Japan.

Ideally we will select a charity the focuses on children.

First all I have to disagree with TBall....there is atleast 50 men risking their lives to try and help save 1000s.  And it looks like it is being done.   I admire these 50 people and all the people of Japan.

I dont disagree Angel. Looks like its being done how do you figure? Everyday there is a new huge issue at the site. I feel for the 50 that are there i do but someone messed up big this should have never happened in the first place some corp exec cut corners there should be no problems with those generators.

These 50 people are giving there lives for some dumb ass corp exec's bottom line.

Now start telling your people the truth

I feel the same about some of the americans but I know that many of them do not feel this way. Our People need to take a true look at what it is to have compassion for their neighbor. What these men are doing are true to a Movie sence.

Like someone else said, dealing with numerous events all at once.......not only the 3 main events but there is also gettin suvivors, recovery of dead bodies, gettin supplies out, gettin people out of the danger zones, contamination, etc.  With all this, I am still in shock it is so calm.  When something like this happens,  u can prepare all u want, it still may not be enough.    As for katrina, I am so angry at our government but I did my part, we had a family make it up here with what they had on their back so we (the neighborhood) got together and cooked food and i donated what clothes I had and we tried to make it easier for them. They left at the end of last year to move back.   I gave a lil to a charity.  I seriously wish things would have been done alot better but I did my best.
