Opinions: Going to get a new 1TB drive and have been looking at different Seagates and WD. Never realized the change but I do NOT like Seagate going with a 1 year warranty. I think I did have one of theirs replaced under warranty once... still within its 3-years... and there was the defective one a couple years ago that required the firmware update. But that happens. The other, looking and blue vs black WD drives. Given the choice I think I would rather go with the black for its performance and 5 year warranty. But I am concerned about the noise which some say is substantial compared to others of its size. Anybody have a black WD drive? How noisy is it? The 1 TB model can be had for $90 US right now. Thx. The black drive should work with my mb since it seems others have used it. Going to need a bios update since I would like to get a quad core for it also anyways. Awards

Dunno what all the fuss is about the black drives being noisy. But I do tend to have alot of ambient stuff especially this time of year when its cold and my space heater is going. Now going to take forever to transfer probably 500gb of data over to it, and try to organize things as I go. Doing that so hopefully I will be able to remove those partitions from the main drive and resize it so all of it can be used for C. Primary is full with all the programs and such. Especially games. People who complain about noise levels of computers that operating properly, are just plain crazy, they ain't loud, unless something's bearings are going bad. Good luck with the transfer.
