hey guys

 

been trying to re-install COD 2 as administrator and keep getting an error "library not registered".....  whats it all about?

ok need more info....perhaps load disk cancel auto run then launch from drive from disk manuely....

 

Can you open up Explorer and browse to your CD drive, locate setup.exe and then right click on it. From this menu, choose "Run as Admistrator" and see if that solves the problem...

I ran the installer from within the disc as an admin before posting, that was the error i got..... no further info im afraid :-(

have u set compatablitiy mode to xp......then run as admin......

 

(run in compatibility mode with Admin and XP modes enabled)

Migrated to win7 pro yesterday. Ran into the same issues. Had to ditch my old SoundBlaster live, disable autorun. Run as admin, run in xp compatible mode.....etc. Up and rolling now, & COD2 never ran so smooth & pretty. Good thing too, was going into gaming withdrawals. Forgot how many map downloads we had. Loaded game & walked away for a couple hours while it slurped up all the .iwd's.

I really have a hankering for a Spanky beatdown. :2guns:
