If you're building a map and have not compiled anything and are ready to try running it. Modtool helper is a good way to get all the files up and running. After running it for the first time I would not use is to alter the.gsc or Fx folder. I do not think it was designed to alter files but to create them. If you need to add stuff to the fx file or your .gsc I would do it manually. You can use it to create just your load screen or just your minimap. and in the end I would use it to create your iwd as well. Once you get the feel for the program I think its a very nice tool to use. And I suppose there is some wiggle room for old school scripting. But for beginers its a nice thing. A little trick to use when your updating your map to keep thing simple. Make your map folder and place it on your desktop. Now whenever you update your ff file just add it to that map folder and let it over right the old one. than test it out.That way you never screw up your load.ff or iwd.
