I was a Republican since I was old enough to vote. After graduating with a political science degree and enduring the Bush years I switched parties after I realized the path this country is heading down. I happen to be very satisfied with how things are going. You people call Obama a socialist because of all this talk about the universal health care shit. I don't hear you calling Canada socialist or how about these countries..Argentina, Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Oman, Portugal, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Ukraine and the United Kingdom. Oh and let's not forget Afghanistan and Iraq. All these countries have Universal Health Care. These countries are no more socialist than we are. In this day in age when we need to curtail government to meet with current times an idea like Universal Health Care is eminent. Health Care providers are out of control doing whatever the fuck they want and charging people, who really need the treatment, prices they can't afford. Who's watching them?? Their services are robbing the poor of this country while the fuckin rich just keep on getting richer. Then they wonder why there's such a huge split between lower/middle and the upper class.

The first thing the British did after the second world war was to have a general election and guess what, years after fighting these nasty socialists we voted in a socialist government, good old Winston Churchill did'nt have a chance because the British people were sick of being shit on by him and his priviledged friends in the Conservative party, and in that period we brought in the the National Health system that gave free health care to the vast majority of Britains who had never ever experienced it. Yes people do complain about our National Health service but that is because we take it for granted now, there would be more complaints if there was none. Listen it's your country you can do whatever you like with your health system but when i hear you say that your system is good and everyone gets treatment then i can only assume you are well covered either from where you work or you pay through the nose for it, well millions of people arent covered and if you are covered why do you oppose other people having the right to medical help it should'nt affect you, or is your country turning into a Britain under Margaret Thatcher where greed was good and you were only encouraged to look after yourselves and not give a damn about anyone less priviledged. America is the most powerful country on the planet a world leader and your healthcare system is ranked something like 35th in the world under polital powerhouse like the mighty Costa Rica, ours is around about 17th totally unnaceptable but a lot better then yours And as an older Englisman as you put it i have voted for the labour party all my life (the lot thats in now arent true socialists ) yes i'm a socialist because i believe everyone should be equal regardless of how much they are worth and as you said about people fighting for freedom well in my experience in this world you are only free if you have plenty of money. I don't want to fall out with you Phrog it's all about opinions mate but you have got to get this socialism bee out of your bonnets over there, i can assure you you won't all turn into a mad communist state like North Korea, because you are a Democracy and always will be and if you think your President is a socialist well he was Democratically elected unlike George Bush who stole the 2000 election and nobody did anything about it..mmmm reminds me of the sort of thing communist and fascist governments get away with.

the problem with thye current administration is the "democratic" principles of social injustice and the reparations of such through financial assistance and conveyance. The Obama admin , as most democrats, are oblivious to the effets of the increase in tax and spending that their programs would cause. They want to offer all this aid for the prosperity of the less fortunate in some grand gesture of altruism, but this shit costs money. It never pays for itself. The fact that they rely on the chicago style heavy handed politics to rush everything through shows that they know these programs are not going to be well received after everyone gets a thorough understanding of them. The charge to socialism is at hand, make no mistake. Otherwise there would have been a mild ex[planation of how a guy like Van Jones, and all these other radical bastards, are the advisors to the president, on govt payroll no less. None of these people were vetted by the fbi or congress in their appointments. Seem a little fishy yet? Obama said he was goint to "FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGE" America and he meant it. He hopes to subvert the very process that put him in office.I mean, you dont even hear his spokeman rebuking the acorn tapes directly, and these obama nationalists were encouraging people to defraud the govt, while on the govt aid program to the tune of billions. Socialism is comin, make no mistake, at least until 2010 when,because of the likes of nancy pelosi and harry reid, America will make the dramatic shift back. The country sucked under Bush, but everyone is starting to figure out its gonna suck A LOT WORSE under obama. Not mto mention how much its gonna cost. Look shan, there is more to the push for socialism than just the health care, it permeates in the air with the arrogance that the dems display, and their blatant disregard for their constituency. No offense to you my friend, but with a poly science degree you know whats at stake probably better than most. Govt buyouts of big business is more the trend to socialism than healthcare. Do you wanna take a loan from a govt run bank?When an organization like the APOLLO ALLIANCE is writing a bill (why, itss the 800billion dollar stimulus....) for the congress to vote on, something bad wrong there. The appolo alliance is headed by one of the domestic terrorists (jeffery Jones) who cofounded the WEATHER UNDERGREOUND,who's driving premise is destabilization of govt by overwhelnming the system in social aid demansd, who bombed our own structures in the capital in the 70's......twice. These people have reached that far into the direct workings of the "ELECTED" govt in our country. And i thought clinton was bad when he sold our technology to the chinese. Thatsn nothing compared to this.

you are so right brother! All i want in america is the chance to succeed by my own defintion, not someone elses. If i make better due to my hard work and dedication, i'll be damned if i'm gonna give it to someone so they can feel better bout things in general. I'm no laydown simp. I've had to pull up the bootstraps like so many others and keep trudging, cuz in America you still have a chance to rise above your surroundings, even when things look grim.
