Don"t know last weekend I downloaded the activated ver of win 7 from a torrent and treid it out on a tosser I have. Loaded was activated and I started loading all sorts of microsoft programs that required a windows activation check and it passed everytime. I have also heard that the update is true but Microsoft has not used it to date. I think that was from a windows weekly podcast. So I don't know but I can leave the tosser hooked up and let it update itself and we can see what happens. Besides that its always a mystery what"s on your machine is the boogie man watching you :)

you better look out, you better not cry, you better watch out.. I am telling you why.. BigBrother is coming to town..

He knows when your sleeping, he knows when your awake, you better watch out what you download these days, so be good for goodness sake.

I think what your getting is just TRASH.. I know these days with software companies want to verify if yor using a genuine copy, but we still have some rights and I dont think your going to be monitored with win7. It way check everytime you start up your PC to see if your using a genuine OS

Ive herd this about win XP too, SP3.  I dont really care, they go after the big fish anyway, torrents are like drugs, they want the uploaders/distributers not the users/downloaders.

I don't know if it has gotten to that point or not.... I do know that cable companies have been asked in the past to voluntarily supply information on LARGE  downloaders.  At this time, I don't think that is happening.

Another thing that I have found to have some basis are Govt. Sites..... any .gov site that is federa, imbeds.  You can call them Cookies, or Trackers or whatever.....  supposedly to help you.... but can be used to track what you are doing on line.  Let's say you went on a .gov site for some political info on the Pres, and then you start going to sites that have a lot of anti-Pres dialogue, it is supposed that somewhere a little flag pops up and you are now on a list.  You may or maynot be watched a little closer.  But  seeing that some of our elite politicos in Washington consider ex-servicemen, christians, and practically any conservative of either party a threat to be watched, that these people supposedly have the knowledge and knowhow, have the financial backing, and the God given backbone to stand up for what they believe; you may already be on a list.

Hmmm, I'm on a lot of peoples lists!  Wink

I use peer guardian, so the only people that can see me is my cable company, I have herd of cases where people have been warned on thier browser not to download illegal content by thier ISP provider. I download alot of network TV shows, not much wrong with that since I pay for it on my cable tv bill. Its fine to download whatever as long as you have the rights to it, like owning the DVD. Its really the uploaders that have to worry.

to funny this post took a wierd turn. Sad news rusty "I use peer guardian, so the only people that can see me is my cable company" there the only people to see it from the start. Everybody else hands them your ip and asks for your address. And suppyeyes they always hand it out if its a legal matter.

P'S. the tosser still works not that its doing anything.
