Anyone here do it? I've recently applied for a licence here and got a trap etc. Just want to know from personal experience what bait is best to use for the American Signal Crayfish (not the rusty crayfish or the white claw crayfish).

 

I've caught the odd one on my line because I've used small meal worms (when going for brown trout).

I have done this before years ago did not get a licence as it was in a local stream the bait I used was bacon .

Last year a local got over 20 in 1 day.

That's pretty good. I'm looking at the grand union canal because according to local sources the place is teeming with them.

I have always just got them by hand out of the streams never thought to set bait because eveything else would have probly ate it with my luck..

 

 

Always used them for bass fishing they loved them

Thing is trapping is more efficient and I don't have to wait for hours, I can set the trap, go for a walk, come back and hopefully have some to take home.
