The installer is just telling you that you already have the latest version of 9.0c. -

There is no such thing as "dumping" directx 11.You will "never" play any game in directx 11 with a gts250 as it supports up to directx 10 only.Even if you had a directx 11 card,CoD 4 and CoDWaW are directx 9.0 games.Update your driver and directx 9.0c. Just because a driver works good for someone else, doesn't mean it will work good with "your" particular hardware. 9.0c- http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=2da43d38-db71-4c1b-bc6a-9b6652cd92a3&displayLang=en -

Type CoDWaWmp into the search box. After it shows in the field above, hover over it with your courser and it will display the path. Should be in (C:)/ProgramFiles(86)/Activision/Call of Duty-World at War (with UAC off) -

Windows 7 supports directx 11 but the gts250 only directx 10.If your playing CoD4,your playing in directx 9.0.Make sure directx 9.0c is up to date. -

When uninstalling the game the uninstaller will only remove "stock" game files, any custom files will remain until you delete them manually. -

It's a common problem.Cancel the auto run and like Jimp said, just browse the cd and click on the setup.exe -

I thought that Gearbox Software already officially announced that "the PC release of Duke Nukem Forever will incorporate Steam Works". http://gbxforums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=117553 -
I would go get the file before deleting the old one, shouldn't need safe mod for that.Everyone seems to have their own way of uninstalling drivers. For me I create a restore point then uninstall through add remove programs, boot into safe mod and run driver sweeper, reboot again and check device manager to make sure that it's uninstalled, install new driver.Custom installation will allow you to pick what you want to install. That's the file for the full suite. They also have one without the APP.Make sure that the .NET Framework is installed as CCC needs this to run in XP and will error out if not installed. It should come through Windows update.
-
Did you install the full software suite for your card, driver and ccc together?
-
I would run the directx update from Microsoft,Way more current than whats on the dvd.Se what's listed in device manager for sound. If your video drivers loaded hd audio, disable that. Are you using on board sound?

No need to reinstall the game, just enter your old key code in multiplayer options in the game menu.Key can also be changed in the Windows registry. -

Run pbsvc 1st to install pb,then run pbsetup to update. You can get pbsvc here; http://www.evenbalance.com/index.php?page=pbsvcfaq.php You can also browse the cd and run pbsvc from there. -
I run one of these,on my second one,1st one died after 4 months. The 1st versions were 65nm,198 stream processors, the 2nd version was 55nm,216 stream processors called the "core 216".They can run a bit warm without good case airflow and draw about 40 more watts under load than the 8800gtx.Minimum psu requirements from the box are 525 watt with at least 38 amps on the 12 volt rail. Depending on your cpu,you should see a 15-30 fps improvement in your games.

Although a proper restore disc should see the drive, not sure how HP does things. If you could get a hold of a windows 7 install disc, you could use it to initialize and format the drive and then try your restore disc again. You said you saw it and then you didn't,have you tried another sata power connector from the psu?,different sata port on the motherboard?
-
Without being able to test on another pc, (could also use an external enclosure),I would say either a faulty drive or a bad cable.Do you have other cables you can try?
-
Can you here the new drive spinning when powered up?Can you try it in the pc your using now and see if windows disk management will see the drive?
-
Make sure the power cable is secure.Did you try the restore cd and let it format the drive?

Look at the "date modified" column.Anything with a 2005 date is an original game file and should not be deleted.Deleting these will require a reinstall.
