lightning Fishing trip carp
little_old_man replied to mrq's topic in Hunting, Shooting, Fishing, Boating
Cool pictures. When I was a kid in southern Ohio, in the winter the Ohio river would flood and when the water went back down there would be these ponds left in the fields just full of big carp and catfish. As the summer went on the ponds would get smaller until they were really small and had hundreds of huge fish in them. Me and my friends would roll up our pants and wade out in the water with aluminum baseball bats and make a pile of dead fish on the bank. Some of these fish were well over 50 pounds. Yes, I had a disturbed childhood. Kind of like Canadians clubbing baby seals, only with fish. -
When I was in Canada I asked to get a bend and cough check up. Took no more than 5 minuets to be seen. Oh Hxtr, brothels don't count as doctor's offices. Lmao, and for the record brothels ARE NOT covered by healthcare Knowing Hx, he most likely claimed it to his HMO... putz! Should be covered under physical therapy... :) I'm sure it was theraputic for Hxtr to a "certain" degree. I think most US insurance companies have a claim code for a hot oil rub & tug.

Just make sure the switch on the positive lead stays open when you're not using the converter. Otherwise it won't charge while your engine is running.

This only happens when a certain procedure in Canada is considered "cosmedic" or the procedure isnt offered in Canada at all. Cosmedic surgery is paid for out of pocket here in Canada. Then usually if that cosmedic procedure is cheaper in the USA, then yes travelling we will go. But if it wasnt a cosmedic procedure and covered by our health system i see no reason why a Canadian would travel to the USA for healthcare. Then I guess heart surgery is considered "costmetic" and Newfoundland premier Danny Williams wanted it done by the best in the US. It's funny Steve, this story is used over and over by individuals on both sides of the border to argue against universal care when in reality it has nothing to do with it. Do you know the true circumstances behind why he sought care in the US? I don't know all the facts but I recall that Premier Williams is a very independently wealthy individual who wanted the best care from a specific cardiac physician who just happened to practice in the US. Now Premier Williams could have had this care and procedures done in Toronto with no waiting period but he chose care from this particular Doctor. This is just like you and I, you may drive across a city to see your doctor rather than the one down the street. So this is no a question of care but rather certain media outlets misinforming the public to justify their own political desires. Yep I know the story Terry. He needed a valve replacement and he couldn't have it done in Canada without them cracking his ribs and chest open with a long recovery period. He found a cardiac doctor in Florida that could do it with a 2 inch incision under his arm. I'm not blaming the guy for doing it, but to say that Canadians "only" cross the border for medical procedures for cosmetic reasons is just plain wrong. Yes we pay through the nose down here but I can be in practically any US city and get immediate state of the art medical care. There is something to be said for that.

Glad you're happy Mule, I hope it all works out for both of you. Hxtr, this is the 21st century. Men and women are equals now, so I make my girls put the seat up after they use it.

Ok guys, before this turns into a heated debate, it was a joke. If you read the link it has aboslutely nothing to do with Canadian healthcare. A man was born blind, fell down some stairs, broke some bones in his face, and the doctors fixed his eyes at age 68 and he can now see. It's really an amazing story and my little jab at Canadian healthcare was just a joke. So lighten up people.

We Americans are always hearing about long waits to have medical procedures done in Canada. Well I have the record holder here. This Quebec man waited 68 years to have his cataracts removed and got his eye sight back. http://now.msn.com/pierre-paul-thomas-born-blind-86-years-ago-has-vision-restored-with-simple-cataract-operation Sorry Pete, I just couldn't help myself.

Congrats WarDragon. Now you have more time to play COD. -
Don't you mean "you the people"? Your profile says you're from Canada. If that's true just what are you going to do about anything your video says? The video is some facts mixed in the half truths and some completely fabricated lies. I saw at least 3 magazine covers that were proven hoaxes and several news reports where you could hear the voices were edited. Yes, there is some scary shit going on in the US, but bullshit video like this is just lame. The biggest problem that our government would have implementing martial law is the same problem other governments had to consider if they ever thought about invading us. There may be a couple million military and police on US soil but there are also over 200 million privately owned firearms in this country. Keeping US citizens under martial law would be nearly impossible and result in a collapse of the government, and probably another civil war. Our founding fathers gave us the right bear arms in part to protect from things like martial law. It's an excellen deterrent. That video is what guys like Timothy McVeigh probably watched before he blew up the Murrah building in Oklahoma City and killed all of those people.

So I met the tallest man in the world today
little_old_man replied to little_old_man's topic in General Discussion
No, I think this guy died before Loader was born. -
Did you also get it listed on Amazon? If you self published you can do it all yourself for almost nothing and they will sell on Amazon as e-books and hard copies. I self published a young adults novel there a couple years ago and it's done fairly well. They make is easy enough so anybody can do it.

EA's biggest retail partner last quarter?
little_old_man replied to PingLo's topic in General Discussion
You might just want to wait until the smoke clears before getting too excited. One little tidbit you left out of your story was: "The company generated $90 million in mobile revenue last quarter, though it didn't say how that was split between Android and iOS." In other words, they had a great quarter because of a push through Apple's I store, but they aren't telling us how much of those sales were on Android devices because they're kissing Apple's ass to generate more sales. Stay tuned, the truth will come out soon. -
Dam that bear got close
little_old_man replied to Leadfinger's topic in Hunting, Shooting, Fishing, Boating
Probably a good idea to keep your fish live in the water on a stringer from now on. It would be a shame to kill the bear because he smelled your fish. Sounds like you know your way around a curious bear, glad it worked out LF. -
Took my daughter and a couple of her friends to Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco today for her 16th birthday. They wanted to see the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum so we went in. There they had a life-sized wax figure of the tallest man that ever lived. His name was Robert Wadlow and he died in 1940 at age 22, and he was 8 foot 11.1 inches tall and still holds the record. I feel like a midget at 6 feet tall.
