simplemod400 thanks deejay, i did try that the other day, and it worked as far as not crashing. but basically what you're saying is if I already have the next map downloaded and don't have to download it between games then I won't crash? I can handle that, just get all the maps downloaded and it will stop. ok Yes, works most of the time but once in a while the game falls over for no apparent reason.

La question I have is how much artistic talent is required to build a map? The only experience I have is of building text adventure games for fun using builder programs designed for the purpose. In the old days (that you might remember) they even had huge pads of preprinted planner paper (dig that alliteration, fellow linguists!) to act as a first stage of "mapping out" the terrain. Bear in mind that I have downloaded nothing to date so humour me, please. (I know General Wolfe wasn't very kind but, I assure you, I am not a descendant as far as I know...) I am in awe of your work in Castillo and Titanic ( a bit of flattery sometimes smooths the path to useful information ) and I would not wish to belittle your undoubted skills ( yeah, don't piss him off, DeeJay, or you'll never learn) but can one produce something from a library of "stock" images and artefacts that would pass muster? Sonovabich There must be a place for players to post so Origin can see and alter the way the game is played to suit what gamers want, why did they make planes and vehicles stronger, if we don't like it there has got to be many more think the same way, we need to let them know how we feel or people are gonna fall out of love with this game. One can comment on the Battle Log post by DICE or post in the forum on there. I don't use Twitter at all but those that do can also use it if their criticisms are within 140 words long.

2cuteSue so thats why i crashed my plane this morning!! i seen the wire but too late... lol.... Unless they've changed it, the planes and choppers are immune to the wires - you just fly through them with no damage caused. I did manage to collide with the antenna itself, though... If you fancy bringing the antenna down, yourself, and spoiling the day of the nuisance sniper on top of it (like I often want to!!!), you'll need C4 placed on the concrete blocks securing the wires behind it. I don't know if tank shells also work - something I need to experiment with perhaps...hehehehe A bonus would be if the thing fell on the snipers that often infest the rocks between the antenna and the checkpoint (! Now that would really make my day!

2cuteSue what are they using to make vids in game with?? That is what we need to to get vids of hackers!!! Cool vid tho.. I guess they are using something like FRAPS ( http://www.fraps.com/ ) I haven't bought it as it costs £24 and, if BF3 doesn't like it occupying memory during play, that's a lot of dough wasted. It is said to work with BF3 though.

2cuteSue - New update patch!! Its official!!! Patch didnt help me none!!! I'm still getting my ass kicked!! +1 I don't know if it's a single problem or something that is now going to be par for the course... I had problems connecting to the XI 64-slot server - waited as it said "Loading Level" for about 100 seconds. Deciding that the game had crashed again, I quit back to Origin (BF3 had not stopped working) and tried again. No joy so I decided to come out of the whole thing, shut down the battle log, shut down Origin and then I could hear the intro audio for the Caspian Border map and in it loaded! Played the game as usual then, when I left the game, the battle log didn't appear - in fact, I had nothing running. The jets are now pretty much invincible to fire from the ground. Helicopters are easy meat - IR flares don't seem to work for them at all. When you consider that, at the end of that game, the jet pilot had a k/d of 20:1 that shows how crazy the balancing has become. Stingers are useless and the LAV-AD doesn't last five minutes as its missiles are similarly impotent against aircraft. Contrary to what DICE announced, I suspect that mines are indeed persisting beyond a player's death.

There's another fly-on-the-wall documentary series running on SKY TV over here: Ross Kemp Back On The Front Line. He's back with the coalition troops in Afghanistan, accompanying them at their forward bases and on patrol. He spent some time with Kilo Company of the US Marines - "The Dirty Third" - and showed the very basic living conditions they endure. Their meals consist of Beef Burgundy and Chicken and Vegetables; he explained that the British forces believe the Americans have better catering on operations with plentiful supplies of steak... I have very limited personal experience of armed forces catering. It ranges from the mouldy bread at a Midlands RAF station and the stodge served up at a Royal Engineers barracks (they could have built bridges from that) to the excellent dining at an Officers' Mess and the wonderful British Army beef curry to which we were treated at the local Military Police mess occasionally. Those rations must be nutritious as the troops have to carry all that kit in high temperatures wearing body armour. But, seeing their meals makes one very grateful for fresh fruit and vegetables!

baldie I bloody love our server but I hate the fucking planes I cant even get off the fucking ground lol I'd like to know which idiot put that big antenna on the Caspian Borders map right in the way of where I wanted to fly my F18, last night... No, I am no fixed wing fighter jock either! Gradually getting better with the choppers if the fixed wing fighter jocks would leave me alone! And the LAV-ADs, Tunguskas, Venoms, Stingers and T-90s... Some of the more hilarious moments occur in the air, though!
