Rockape, in my view you made the correct choice. I have an awful feeling that I have been stiffed by Activision all over again... I complained after buying Black Ops and finding I could only play three games in a row without the blasted game freezing up on me. I wish I could play MW3 without it falling over in some way every other game... If it isn't an IW5MP.EXE error (possibly fixed by muting all voices in ones config, I have learnt via Google - a lot of people are suffering this one), it is repeated DirectX errors stopping the game. Lag arrives in various quantities; one map has a spawn area obviously not coded right - as soon as you stutter out of it all is well. This experienced on a day when I installed a greatly superior video card to that I had originally. I'm not writing off MW3 just yet - we all know it hasn't been out long and there'll be a patch or two along that could fix the problems with it. However, in terms of depth and sheer enjoyment (not to mention reliability that it'll keep running game after game without falling over), BF3 is a vastly superior game. (And the word is it is more demanding of ones system so go figure...)

Changes in the BF3 Hardcore Server

Sonovabich I hope Dice does change things, i hate Team kill, i predict i will be getting kicked many times +1 -
I made a discovery tonight that I thought I would share. (I made two but the fact that Rugger looks scary in a ski mask should not come as any surprise! ). BF3 does not like AVG Internet Security 2012 performing definitions updates when the game is running. It causes the game to halt and stop running. The fix (I hope) is to disable automatic updates in the anti-virus program or schedule them so they do not occur when you are playing. Loving this game! Gradually learning how to fly fixed wings... The task would be easier if that Cobryis didn't keep interrupting the flying lessons by shooting me down...

Merlin007 DEEJAYKEG Paperman>XI< hahahaha lololooll I see you have a moob medal too, Paper'! Where's that Rockape... I had Rockape remove my boobs. He was quite gentle. LMAO Thanks, Rockape. The medal adjustment more accurately reflects that I don't have tits but do play like one...

2_MANY_BEERS DEEJAYKEG I'll learn my lesson and not enter the game when mp_lsb_cave_village is running... The same problems with it persist and the game bled players last night as a result. You can't hit *any* opponents without one of those gas-powered Russian sniper rifles and, if both teams stay back, they remain out-of-range even for that - a boring stalemate results. Because the ammo runs out, one is soon unable to try to shoot anything. IMHO, this remains the worst map currently offered and actually depopulates the server. Map removed and mark as disliked.Added a new map called Dumont. Only runs on this server also. Thanks, Beers - you've done us all a favour!

My fellow combatants on the 32-slot HC mixed server will have been aware that I have experienced the odd problem in the past day or two. Midway through a game, and, coincidental to a prolonged death streak it turns out, I have been unable to deploy back onto the battlefield. Various reasons were advanced (had I hit the tilde to bring up the console, for example) but I think I cracked it, last night, when the server disconnected. I could then see that my Internet connection had crapped out. So, if this happens to you, Alt-Tab and check your connection status. It seems to be a hazard of our crappy British networks at the moment that, at peak times like Sunday evenings, demand caused by a need to escape the awful TV programmes, means that our spur of the 'net is overwhelmed. These breaks are usually only a few minutes in duration so I can live with them. Please continue to humour me...
-
I don't understand it. Perhaps it is symptomatic of a wider culture of instant gratification. "I want - give me now" rather than "Humour me - I'm prepared to learn the hard way"? Surely, if one removes a great part of the challenge and games become like shooting fish in a barrel, most of the fun of playing is denied. What the kiddies who cheat in this way don't seem to realise or care about is that it says something about their characters - deceit and dishonesty are not respected anywhere. I, too, am delighted that those detected are losing the ability to pollute the servers.

Sitting- Sonovabich Just logged on to Steam and i did not get asked to change password or anything else, is this just a big scam to make us change?..anyone been asked to change password yet? No it's not a scam, the official article can be found here: http://store.steampowered.com/news/6761/ I would change your password to be on the safe side however the probability is that they were only able to retrieve a small number of users data.. the user database for steam is massive and would take a long time to copy over. However in the event that your accounts data was copied it would be advisable to follow the advice given. . As the announcement says,"We do not know of any compromised Steam accounts, so we are not planning to force a change of Steam account passwords (which are separate from forum passwords)....", unless one shares ones account password between the two, there is nothing that should be of concern in that regard. Anyone who has used a credit or debit card on the system, however, had better keep an eye on their statements. See also http://www.xtremeidiots.com/fora_topic.asp?tid=22220 of 11 November.

Now I see what you were talking about on TS! Heck, TS, does the power company know yet? Hope the state doesn't suffer any brown-outs! If you kept the side off or maybe cut a slot in the case, you could warm pies in that...

ROCKAPE - Please Welcome Back Cobranss Cobranss was a Clan Member and has now been re-instated from a "registered user" back to Clan Member, this was due to not logging on to the website for over 3 months and not informing us about absence in our "Vacation/Personal" forum. He therefore lost his membership status. An ex clan member has to meet all of the criteria for clan membership to become re-instated. He has done this so I would like to say..... Welcome back Cobranss, please stay active. ROCKAPE>XI<ADM He's stayed active all right - been shooting my ass since he got back! Welcome back, fella!

CplMOFO DEEJAYKEG UnChileno Got it..not having much fun yet..Controls are hard to ..Y wont it stay when u press it..have to hold it down..hate that.. Take Woody for a ride sometime - he reminds me of my wife and her comments when we are "making progress" at a suitable speed through country lanes! I'll even take you for a helicopter ride now I can fly it the right way up and crash land it without killing all occupants! These new games have taught me that I really do need a new graphics card so I have a 1GB Radeon HD 6870 coming on Tuesday. I hope that makes MW3 playable and BF3 more stable for me. Well DJ, That card is a good choice and a good value (price/performance wize) if you're into ATI cards.... What's the rest of your system specs, and your monitor size/resolution again? It's a Medion Erazer X7321 D : http://tinyurl.com/d9xfcjs i7-860 Win 7/32 4GB RAM 1TB hard drive (plus 3 others, total 3TB) Monitor: Samsung SyncMaster 2493 HM (24" full HD widescreen) - display's OK but monitor is crap in other ways! Had the PC 18 months now so about time I opened it up! -

The question does not compute... I wasn't here in 1911 and, as it's not yet 11:11am here today, I cannot say what I "was" doing. I'll be at home and, I expect, watching the TV coverage of the cenotaph parade in central London.

DEEJAYKEG replied to DEEJAYKEG's topic in Battlefield 3's Battlefield 3 Discussion
PrimalFear I'm really glad you got the game and loving it Deejay, your description of it is perfect lol I'll fly with you anytime just let me know when to jump out Poor Woody was teamed up with me for a game of Rush yesterday. He couldn't believe my tank-driving skills never mind what happened when I got in a helicopter. I'm improving - I managed to crash-land right on top of one M-COM so I didn't have far to go to blow it! Later, though, I had a BSOD during a game. I'm sure it's graphics card related and I have just bought a new one that ought to be here on Tuesday so just 48 hours before I fix the problem for good. -
I'm facing a similar question here, as, despite what the game publishers have said and the results of "Can You Run It", my current card ( Radeon HD 4870) cannot handle MW 3 in multiplayer and the PC blue-screened last night in BF3. I have decided to go for a mid-range card for reasons of finance (the 1GB Sapphire card I have eyes on is GBP136) and power supply (500w required which I believe is in this machine). If I go for a higher-spec card, I have to add a PSU upgrade for at least an extra GBP100! If money were no object, I'd choose a high-end Radeon but as long as I get a card that can prevent the sight of a disembodied Magnus head travelling about the map in MW3, I shall be happy.
