Server Problems?
DEEJAYKEG replied to ldoz's topic in Call of Duty: World At War's Call Of Duty: World At War Discussion
No it's just the DM server that is down. OH fuck I'm answering another week old post. LOL Answered mine in seven minutes so I am impressed! Any idea how long it will be out of action? -

End Game Reactions?

I agree with StanG about the snipers... CTF is quite enjoyable though, with large teams and flags defended with mines and claymores, most games I played yesterday ended 0-0 with the result decided on kills(?). Of the new vehicles, the dirt bikes are best. I like the drop ship paratrooper spawn option. I haven't yet tried air superiority as I've only played on the XI server. -
Some information I found, today, about another Hotmail outage. (I don't know why people use it but many do!) If you are struggling to get your email or it isn't all there, here's why... http://www.pcpro.co.uk/news/380533/microsoft-outlook-com-and-hotmail-go-down

I pointed to two old drunks across the bar from us and told my buddy, "That'll be us in ten years". He said, "That's a mirror, you dumb shit."

I just hope they have some of these among the new vehicles - that'd sort Damit out! -

When I was working night shifts at this time of the year and my shift was shortened by the clock change, I had the choice of working an "extra" hour or taking the lost hour off as time-off. I don't think what Harry says is strictly true, these days, in respect of digital devices as most change their own clocks. If one has an analogue clock on the wall, that's different of course. I tend to keep a couple of clocks/watches on BST even through the winter and call them my CET clocks! The major concern about messing with the system here (there's been a suggestion we should adopt CET like mainland Western Europe) is child safety as it is not a good idea for kids to travel to school in the dark.

Christian Nock is walking around the entire British coastline to raise money for the "Help For Heroes" charity. This is a distance of around 6500 miles! He started his venture on 8 August 2012 in Blackpool, Lancashire and has reached Beachy Head in Sussex today. So far, he has raised over £17,000! He sleeps rough every night to highlight the plight of homeless ex-servicemen. (Yes, in this freezing weather with more snow forecast!) If you would like to read more about Christian's marathon walk or make a donation, I'll include some links below. I'll also include a link to the charity's site so you can see what great work H4H is doing for our injured boys and girls. Just remember, fellow Britons, that the folk across the water do this earlier than we do - last Sunday of the month for us! This year that's Sunday 31 March.

Is that "herb" growing inside his cage? The Feds won't believe you when you say he's an alligator that eats cops...

On release day, in the UK (it's been out a few days in the USA already), I breathe a huge sigh of relief that I was unable to pre-order the limited edition! Just take a look at the feedback on Facebook and Amazon... I now understand TBB's comment about the DRM. You cannot play single-player without being connected to an EA server online! Guess what... Many cannot connect and have been sitting in queues waiting! Yes, looks like the DRM has killed the game and the design makes it unlikely that they can mend what they have broken. I would not be surprised to see a law suit commence in the USA... "Good" job EA!

I'll be interested to see if the clan supports the Air Superiority mode... ??? -
Yuuup! If an IGLA/Stinger is within range of an airborne jet, are there any other legitimate circumstances in which one would be unable to get a lock? I have found if you " Q " them you may get a lock sooner then later. If the plane/heli has stealth it will take an extra couple seconds to lock. (smaller lock - shoot window) They could (but I doubt) have the vehicle equipped with "proximity scan " just like the tanks. I dont know any one that uses it except when they first get the perk. Most of us, have filed that perk. Secondly, are there any legitimate perks employed by pilots that would permit them to home in on a concealed enemy or, when this happens, should one suspect some form of cheating? Are you playing softcore? anyone on the other team " Q's " you the whole team will know your there...all the pilot does is turns around and badabing....there you are...nightly night I reiterate that these questions have resulted from experiences on a non-XI server on which no players who frequent our clan's were present (as a player of low abilities, I am used to being "pwned" by Level 100 Colonels but a 15-69 kdr is pretty bad even for me!). Wow what determination, I would have accidentally kicked the plug of my pc outa the wall before that game ended. lol So the question remains is it your tactics or the pilots? I say " employ the same tactics on same map at OUR server and see what the outcome is " Thanks for any thoughts. Thanks for the offerings, Damit. I guess you could be right about the spotting as it wasn't hardcore. My team was actually winning comfortably as we were concentrating on capturing flags whilst the opposition were flying around overhead but lots of players bailed and the game swung around. You know how it goes with "rape from the air"? I hung on in there as I was intent on ranking up before bedtime. The trouble was that bedtime didn't happen till the game ended just after 0500 GMT!

A general BF3 question, not specific to XI servers, but aimed at those who are experienced in the air and trying to down jets and choppers with the IGLA and Stinger. I am aware that there is an ECM perk employed by those pilots who have unlocked it. From the ground this appears to be puffs of smoke around the aircraft (or have I got that wrong?). If an IGLA/Stinger is within range of an airborne jet, are there any other legitimate circumstances in which one would be unable to get a lock? Secondly, are there any legitimate perks employed by pilots that would permit them to home in on a concealed enemy or, when this happens, should one suspect some form of cheating? Server Problems?
DEEJAYKEG replied to ldoz's topic in Call of Duty: World At War's Call Of Duty: World At War Discussion
Like Boomslang, I was unable to connect to any of the XI COD5 servers. I did, however, connect quickly and without any problems, to others not run by the clan. Does this not suggest a problem at the hosting company's end? -

Maybe we ought to get into the habit of posting a link below each movie we share on here so, if the embedding fails for whatever reason, there is still a link to the video that the reader can follow.

Four guys, all deputies at the same department, have been going to the same deer camp for many years. Two days before the group is to leave, Frank’s wife puts her foot down and tells him he isn’t going. Frank’s friends are very upset that he can’t go, but what can they do. Two days later the three get to the camping site only to find Frank sitting there with a tent set up, firewood gathered, and dinner cooking on the fire. “Damn man, how long you been here, and how did you talk your wife into letting you go?” “Well, I’ve been here since yesterday. Yesterday evening, I was sitting in my chair and my wife came up behind me and put her hands over my eyes and said, ‘Guess who?’” I pulled her hands off, and she was wearing a brand new see through nightie. She took my hand and pulled me to our bedroom. The room had candles and rose pedals all over. On the bed she had handcuffs, and ropes! She told me to tie and cuff her to the bed, and I did. And then she said, “Do what ever you want.” So, here I am.
