  1. This has turned into a dark conversation I am not comfortable with. I have worked hard and treated every patient with the respect and dignity they deserved, and what I hope for if I was a patient as well. If you wish to make a statement that you have experienced or witnessed poor treatment, or even preferential treatment to others then I would advise you talk to someone in your health authority or your local MP, MLA or state representative. I myself have worked with some amazing individuals in my career who have given themselves tirelessly to their profession. Yes, I have met some you also treated this as a pay check but gratefully they could not make as a career. Is it possible that some individuals let their own personal ideals cloud their work, yes its possible. I just have not witnessed it in my career and I am grateful. I stress again, you have concerns and yes make allegations then I suggest you contact someone. Your not doing any any good venting here, maybe go outside and scream at clouds, at least then you are getting some exercise.
  2. Hey Crunch, first off I can not comment on the case you mentioned but only express common practices in my experience. If someone is diagnosed with Covid 19 and their symptoms are not life threatening then a ventilator is not required. The process required to be on a ventilator is quite precise. You first need to be under general anesthetic and the intubated. You are then monitored 24/7 by medical staff most likely in ICU. No one takes being on a ventilator lightly, its typically designed for short term use, the longer you are on it, the worse your chances are of a full recovery. As for self isolation for 30 days? Its most likely 28 days but to the variant Covid-19. The isolation period is longer than the standard 14 days. As for privilege, I dont see that. Good question though.
  3. And what were you expecting from me? No, I would like an answer.
  4. Awesome pics, looks great.
  5. Well said. https://www.cntraveler.com/gallery/the-10-happiest-countries-in-the-world
  6. One was an emerg case and we are obligated to provide care. I was a young then and shocked at what happened. You convince yourself that your providing care regardless of the patient. There has been numerous times i wanted to tell a patient to fuck off but I held back. The second? it was an elective exam and i handed him his rec back and told him get out. My management backed me for any abuse is not tolerated. He was later banned from service for we are a private provider.
  7. Oh dont worry, I slip into my PPE everytime I open this forum (lol).
  8. Wow, those dude are on something, they move at a speed I cant even comprehend (lol).
  9. Well you got me on that one. I only have limited knowledge from site visits to London & Dublin. I have first hand knowledge of years of care in both a private and single payer system and it has little to do with socialism or ethnic background. I have had patients spit in my face in 1990 to 2018 and their political thoughts never crossed their minds nor mine.
  10. lol.. You kill me. Showing your tits, we will make you an admin. lol
  11. I do not see the connection between socialism and the abuse on healthcare staff. What is obvious by todays standards the complete lack of respect society has for each other. The news is all about brutal violence towards police officers, healthcare workers, local civic employees, Retail employees. Every November we watch individuals brawling over a TV on black Friday. The political forum is littered with individuals calling others morons, losers, idiots and other terms of disrespect just because they disagree. I think the problem goes beyond political stances but rather where we are as a society. Footnote: I have worked in healthcare for almost 30 years, not one have a been told or did anything based on ethnicity of a patient. They are all treated the same.
  12. I am unclear why this is about socialism? Either way it should be moved to the political forum.
  13. Great job Kitsune, I myself being one who is in healthcare I appreciate what you are doing. Thank you.
  14. Mike inspired me to think of what would be my greatest album ever, something I never get tired of listening to. As a musician myself I'm inspired by artists who push the limits of popular music specifically during their era but also stand the length of time. For myself that is Abbey Road by the Beatles, released in September 1969. Here is a band literally tearing apart in the summer of 1969 and they come together once more to create an iconic album. You have two incredible song writers in Lennon & McCartney pushing out songs and probably the most under rated third in any band in Harrison with some of his greatest material in Something & Here Comes the Sun. I dont know of any band that end their musical career together call it quits with a song called "The End"...Fours guys taking turns starting with a drum solo and a three-guitarist solo never heard before or since. As a guitarist myself I can appreciate hearing three distinct guitar styles, each taking their turn. Even the dam album cover is iconic.
  15. Lol, well done buddy
  16. Well played Ron.
  17. Oh I have noticed. Don’t you think it’s odd that two healthcare providers are disagreeing on something that should unite us? My point is Tim, this is semantics. You and I can go on and on about this and get nowhere or we can agree that there is plenty to be done to improve the situation starting with simple washing of hands. I encourage anyone to seek care if needed specially with what is happening now. Yes, remind anyone who provides you with care to be diligent about their techniques. Please do not second guess yourself for if you wait it maybe to late.
  18. Wow, hit a nerve did I? Remember you moved off topic on this by clarifying my grammar. If you can’t stand by your remarks then it’s best you remain on the sidelines. I have washed my hands of you.
  19. LOL.. Is that all you have? Thats your argument. Let me say I’m grateful you left healthcare, and your piers are most likely as well.
  20. LOL.. you are a drama queen! I bet your popular at parties.
  21. I am getting the impression you have a axe to grind over this and healthcare in general. It’s your ego that is in question not mine. i am more than willing to sit and discuss making a difference on this issue and any other if it will help patient outcomes. I have 30 years of healthcare experience and brought up two daughters who are RNs as well. I am still in the game making a difference, I would hope with your knowledge you would do the same. We need solid thinkers who wish help than those who wish to stand on the sidelines and say.. your doing it wrong! I ask you again , which one are you?
  22. Wow, Crunch! Dusting off the classics, that was from 1995! lol
  23. That is very true, I don’t know your situation but your statement was a blanket one in general towards all hospitals in the US. Sound advice on the hand washing. Sadly I think it took a pandemic to hit that home.
