I did a little light reading on this doctor. Dr Mikovits has become a champion for believers in medical conspiracy theories. She has little credibility and her theories have been disproven. Sadly people who believe this go on to infect others and people get hurt or worse die. Don’t be mistaken, you can believe these people who you don’t know or ask someone who has seen this first hand. I hope your correct in your assessment. My first hand experience is with patients who made it into the hospital. The cases that's coming out of NY, New Jersey, Michigan, Spain, France, Italy and others is tragic. Im not an expert on this, I don't think any of us are. We pull information from our favorite news site and treat it as gospel. All I know is what I see when those patients reach the hospital. They are scared and brave in the face of something that can potentially take their lives. I have seen many simples cases and I have seen a few awful ones. If your in healthcare SGTSmeg you do everything you can to help and care for these people. Its just what you do. If you feel its your constitutional right then who am I to stop you. In the end, I will still be that person assisting you and providing you care when you need it the most.

Are we surprised by this? Look at Chernobyl 35 years ago. The Russian government didn't admit to this disaster for some time, and even then there was no way to hide radiation fallout spread all over the continent. People hiding the truth goes back to when we played with rocks.

Oh, I have a suggestion. People can begin injecting disinfectants into themselves to prop up their immune system. I have heard this suggestion from the so called highest authority in the nation. If that's the case, have at it! See you at my emergency department real soon!

Question , whom are you really upset at? The medical data doesn't suggest an early opening. The consensus is outbreaks will happen and we will be taking a step back rather than foreword. That's from the medical establishment. So again, are you upset the government or the medical establishment, whom in reality only want to save lives. Maybe protesters should be picketing their local hospitals, see how far that gets you.

Beers What happened in your past saddens me and it is profoundly regretful. I can’t speak for my profession but only to say the vast majority of us do our work in the hopes of improving others lives and helping someone. I chose this profession cause I enjoy working with people and genuinely want to make a difference. For 30 years that’s been the case. Yes, you are correct most of us knew the risks. We acknowledge those risks and we still do our work. We risk ourselves and even worse the people we love by being infected and bringing this home. I understand your mistrust and you obvious have a right to that, but please do myself a favor and all healthcare providers and consider tempering that for now. We need people to have faith and trust that we are doing all we can to save lives. We don’t need people mistrusting us and doing something silly like not getting medical assistance when they truly need it. We are not an exact science and most of us are doing our best specially in these trying times. Again, I am sorry for what has happened in the past, in today’s world, we are putting our own lives in harms way to help others and their loved ones. Myself and my girls will continue to that. I understand my friend. As I mentioned to Giggles in a PM, its the unknown that makes this even more upsetting. This situation is changing on an hourly basis, speculation seems to be the norm these days and there are more questions than answers. Your concerns are very valid and I can understand the fears and frustration you must be feeling. I apologize for me loosing my goose earlier, it was uncalled for. I too have someone very close to me that this virus could be extremely harmful to. We all have to do what we can to prevent this.

Hey Giggles Thanks for the kind words and its very unfortunate that someone made you feel that way. I know we are making tough choices as we speak on how we treat suspected cases. This province has been amazingly well in respect to testing, which is vital. We seem to be doing well with supplies though i think they will become shorter as this progresses. Im glad that your doing all that you can do to minimize the spread of this and I can agree more, as a mom you deserve a dam medal as it is. I hope you are well and please stay safe. I have read the article and I agree there was several things that could have and should have been done. In the early stages of these virus, most of us in healthcare were trying to come to terms with how to deal and treat this. Its been chaotic and stressful at times believe me. The article you quotes mentions that this was a worse case scenario, sadly that doesnt help those who got sick and died. As a healthcare provider, I can say without a doubt that we do our best and our priority is the care of patients. Sometimes we fall short but we are willing to put ourselves in harms way if needed to save others. I can not say that with anymore sincerity. Now that I have that way. As for your statement. Your level of "Monday morning quarterbacking" is not useful and yes unproductive. Like any profession, we in healthcare are open to constructive criticism which you havent given at all. I have heard you bitch and moan about healthcare providers twice in two different states and you profess to not rippin on doctors? This is huge crisis! We are managing something that we have never seen in our lifetime. If you do not have constructive things to say with your complaining, then I suggest you take it outside or better yet, join me in the hospital, dawn on PPE that covers you from head to toe and make a difference.
