Ok, the video shows them using an aerosol can to prove there point. Its false in respect to Covid-19. Covid-19 or diseases similar are spread by droplet form or better yet large droplet form. I say large but its still very small in size but they call it large. Aerosols are typically much smaller but do have liquid in the air, hence as the video shows. The reality is humans cant produce an aerosol effect hence why Covid is not spread in this fashion. Masks prevent droplet spread and not aerosol spread. Of course the science is not so black and white but I hope this helps. When Covid hit, as a provider we had to learn very quickly how to field questions like this, but with science it can be proven wrong. I hope this helps.

My friend, I wish to give you my opinion from a healthcare providers point of view. I really dont care what we used to fight this virus, anything helps. One case turns into 2, then 4,8,16 and so on and so on. Surgical masks protect you from droplet spread and this is how this is spread, droplets. Let me give you an example, have you ever seen the PPE worn in a hospital? It literally looks see-threw and you wonder how the hell is that going to protect you. Its prevents droplets from penitrating and you can wear and not sweat a storm. This is how masks works, unfortunately many are not worn properly, they dont seal very well and people wear them way beyond their effectiveness. The reality is everything helps. What makes is virus so deadly is it has a asymptomatic stage which means you can spread it and dont even know. SARS was more deadly but patients became ill right away and you knew as a healthcare provider to quarantine them. So wearing some type of face covering will provide some protection. I hope this helps. I will provide the difference between an aerosol and a droplet in a moment.

Seems odd that we are discussing this between Canada Day and Independence Day. I don’t think there any two nations on earth as close as we are, brothers so to speak. Its best we spend our energy in defeating a common enemy like Covid-19. Happy 4th to my American family and friends.

Oh gosh no Mike, all that money comes from all the 19.1 Trillion trade deficit you my friend have with us. Keep your SUV topped up this 4th of July weekend! Plus once the border opens, I will see streams of US plates not to far from me. I know, its very a tough place to live but please dont hate me for it Lol

I would like to thank everyone who is doing their part to minimize the risk during this time. Working in healthcare sucks even when the risk in my area is low, but things can change lightning fast. I appreciate all who are going their part. And for those nay-sayers, go fuck yourself... see you in ER soon enough.

Interesting article, and I agree that its time we begin to open our respective countries to business (which by all accounts is happening). My thoughts are open cautiously for human nature has an awful habit of forgetting the past. My only concerns: Fact One- "The overwhelming majority of people are not at risk of Covid-19, and that modelling had it completely wrong". What that statement fails to mention is that all prevention prior to have helped lesion the curve. We all witnessed what was happening in China and Italy and it seemed pretty bleak. We have all take credit, in that we took what was happening and we put data to good use. Fact Three: "Vital population immunity by total isolation is prolonging the problem" That is true but up to this point it also has been saving lives. We also are assuming that the bodies response system will react the same as it has to other viruses which we dont know yet. Remember, this is only months old, there has been cases of re-infection and wide spread reports that unreliable antibody test have flooded the market. To your point of Beers about fear. Who would have thought that a virus such as this would cause a run on anything like toilet paper (excuse the pun). Hell, they are now mentioning Killer Hornets, my first thought was should i go get more toilet paper? I think fear of the unknown is what drives people. Sadly politicians have been doing this for sometime and worse these days. Fear your neighbor for they believe in something different than yourself. Only one more point. From a public standpoint, one of the worse things that could happen to a model is that it works. If a projected model helps us social distance and putting preventative measures lessen the curve, it then counter acts what we have done successfully. This is called the "paradox of prevention", if it works people assume the things we were trying to fix were not a bad as they thought... BIG MISTAKE! I noticed a few examples of this, Both Tucker Carlson and Laura Ingraham have taken offense that the number of ICU beds and ventilators required have not materialize, in effect we all should be outraged. What? shouldnt we pleased that what we have done has lessened the effect and we ha to error on precaution for what was happening in Italy. In the end we have a lot to learn from Covid-19. Its hard to people to respond to a threat when they cant see its worst effects, and worst some will insist that the threat never existed.

In the end your correct and I can appreciate that. It’s fine to be critical of what’s happening for its our job to hold science or politics to a higher standard. My only wishes is to please error towards safety. It’s your life and people around you.

Lol.. bugger off you ass!

I did a little light reading on this doctor. Dr Mikovits has become a champion for believers in medical conspiracy theories. She has little credibility and her theories have been disproven. Sadly people who believe this go on to infect others and people get hurt or worse die. Don’t be mistaken, you can believe these people who you don’t know or ask someone who has seen this first hand. Pick your reliable source. https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/scientist-vaccine-jailed/

I hope your correct in your assessment. My first hand experience is with patients who made it into the hospital. The cases that's coming out of NY, New Jersey, Michigan, Spain, France, Italy and others is tragic. Im not an expert on this, I don't think any of us are. We pull information from our favorite news site and treat it as gospel. All I know is what I see when those patients reach the hospital. They are scared and brave in the face of something that can potentially take their lives. I have seen many simples cases and I have seen a few awful ones. If your in healthcare SGTSmeg you do everything you can to help and care for these people. Its just what you do. If you feel its your constitutional right then who am I to stop you. In the end, I will still be that person assisting you and providing you care when you need it the most.

Are we surprised by this? Look at Chernobyl 35 years ago. The Russian government didn't admit to this disaster for some time, and even then there was no way to hide radiation fallout spread all over the continent. People hiding the truth goes back to when we played with rocks.

Oh, I have a suggestion. People can begin injecting disinfectants into themselves to prop up their immune system. I have heard this suggestion from the so called highest authority in the nation. If that's the case, have at it! See you at my emergency department real soon!
-
Question , whom are you really upset at? The medical data doesn't suggest an early opening. The consensus is outbreaks will happen and we will be taking a step back rather than foreword. That's from the medical establishment. So again, are you upset the government or the medical establishment, whom in reality only want to save lives. Maybe protesters should be picketing their local hospitals, see how far that gets you.

How did you know it was a national pastime lol

Whats amusing is he is an "native american". lol, That a term we Canadians would not use, though I am partial to the equestrian myself lol.

Is it not sad that individuals health and safety have become a political pawn?

My thoughts and prayers are with him and your family this evening.

A coronavirus is a type of virus that's spread from person-to-person contact. It doesn't travel through something like radio waves. You can't get it from using your phone or watching TV -- unless the phone itself or the remote control is contaminated with coronavirus. This novel coronavirus belongs to the Coronaviridae family. The coronavirus was first detected in the Chinese city of Wuhan late last year. The virus, initially known as 2019-nCoV, was reported to the World Health Organization on Dec. 31 and has been under investigation since. The name covid-19 derives from the year it was discovered, not the number of viruses. One point addressed by the 5G-coronavirus theories is that COVID-19 came from China because that's where most 5G network towers are. While China does have service in many areas, 5G came to South Korea and parts of the US first. Why didnt this virus originate there? Plus, this virus has hit countries that dont have 5G like Iran or Japan. My suggestion? Get OUT of your mothers basement and please dont be afraid of that large orange orb in the sky, it wont harm you! Stay away from others but I suspect they maybe frightened by your pimpled-no sun complexion. YOU will be fine!

If this is true, I know the location of where Elvis and Tupac are. Stones through away from where they staged the moon landings.

Beers What happened in your past saddens me and it is profoundly regretful. I can’t speak for my profession but only to say the vast majority of us do our work in the hopes of improving others lives and helping someone. I chose this profession cause I enjoy working with people and genuinely want to make a difference. For 30 years that’s been the case. Yes, you are correct most of us knew the risks. We acknowledge those risks and we still do our work. We risk ourselves and even worse the people we love by being infected and bringing this home. I understand your mistrust and you obvious have a right to that, but please do myself a favor and all healthcare providers and consider tempering that for now. We need people to have faith and trust that we are doing all we can to save lives. We don’t need people mistrusting us and doing something silly like not getting medical assistance when they truly need it. We are not an exact science and most of us are doing our best specially in these trying times. Again, I am sorry for what has happened in the past, in today’s world, we are putting our own lives in harms way to help others and their loved ones. Myself and my girls will continue to that. Todays weather, sunny. Stay safe.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/04/23/us/az-nurse-coronavirus-rally-trnd/index.html From where I stand, these so called medical personnel are putting themselves in harms way to save others loved ones and family. Tragically some will lose that battle, but at least your weather report will 100 percent true.. “dark, clearing by morning”.

Sadness will soon become outrage to this. Im sorry, this is not something that happens here, but sadly things change/
