Toot you are correct. The CIA and the US goverment did supply the Taliban with arms durring the early 80's. The US did outfit Israel with arms and Somaila was a complete mess. But you forgot the reason why... A. Russian Troops marched across the Afgan border in 1979 and the with US support the Taliban did what no army could. Push Communist Russia out of Afganistan. B. The US military did help arm Israel (along with other countries) but only for defense purposes. Practically every muslim country in the region wanted Israel wipped off the map and have attacked Israel for the better part of the first 30 years of its existence. I feel for the palistinians but car bombing schools, markets and even the 1972 Munich Olympics isnt the way to gain thier freedom. C. As for the chants... My wife and 2 daughters are American and the look on thier faces as they watched thier home being attacked was heartbreaking. IT takes an entirely diffrent twist when your emotionally envolved. They systematically hunted Bin Laden til they found him. It was a emotional response to a horific event, and many Americans needed to release that feeling. I do agree that the CIA at times are as shady and dispicable as the KGB were or the Kmer Rouge. Unfortunately thier a needed resource. PS... Toot..Dont watch FOX NEWS... Those are men no less in brown shirts (lol)... I also agree as well Toot.. there are several countries involved in Afganistan.
