I am not sure a hell of a lot of people really care for the royals.
My big question is, why in this day in age do we still have them around.
they serve no use.

My wife and I were watching Who Wants To Be A Millionaire while we were in bed.
I turned to her and said, 'Do you want to have Sex?' 'No,' she answered. I then said, 'Is that your final answer?'
 
... She didn't even look at me this time, simply saying, 'Yes..' So I said, "Then I'd like to phone a friend."
 
And that's when the fight started...

reunion, and she kept staring at a drunken man swigging his

I asked her, "Do you know him?"

many years ago, and I hear he hasn't been sober since."

 
"My God!" I said, "Who would think a person could go on celebrating that long?"

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed.
But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first, the shed, the boat,
making beer.. Always something more important to me.

 
Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point.
When I arrived home one day, I found her seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny
pair of sewing scissors. I watched silently for a short time and then went
into the house. I was gone only a minute, and when I came out again I handed her a toothbrush.
 
I said, "When you finish cutting the grass, you might as well sweep the driveway."
 
The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.

Saturday morning I got up early, quietly dressed, made my lunch, and slipped quietly into the garage. I hooked up the boat up to the van and proceeded to back out into a torrential downpour. The wind was blowing 50 mph, so I pulled back into the garage, turned on the radio, and discovered that the weather would be bad all day.
 
I went back into the house, quietly undressed, and slipped back into bed. I cuddled up to my wife's back; now with a different anticipation, and whispered, "The weather out there is terrible."
 
My loving wife of 5 years replied, "And, can you believe my stupid husband is out fishing in that?"
 
And that's how the fight started...

My wife was hinting about what she wanted for our upcoming anniversary.
She said, "I want something shiny that goes from 0 to 150 in about 3 seconds."
 
I bought her a bathroom scale.

After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for Social Security. The woman behind the counter asked me for my driver's License to verify my age. I looked in my pockets and realized I had left my wallet at home. I told the woman that I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back later.
 
The woman said, 'Unbutton your shirt'. So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair.
 
She said, 'That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me' and she processed my Social Security application.
 
When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the Social Security office.

She said, 'You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability too.'
 
And then the fight started...

She was not happy with what she saw and said to me, "I feel horrible; I look old, fat and ugly. I really need you to pay me a compliment.'
 
I replied, "Your eyesight's damn near perfect."

The driver got out of the other car, and he was a DWARF!!
 
He looked up at me and said 'I am NOT Happy!'

One year, I decided to buy my mother-in-law a cemetery plot as a Christmas gift...
 
The next year, I didn't buy her a gift. When she asked me why, I replied, "Well, you still haven't used the gift I bought you last year!"

Some of those meds can be a real ass kicker, although I hope I'm doing it to you instead of the meds.

I had planned on attending the Fest this year, even to the point of booking "recovery" days off work around the weekend.
However, I have been having some major issues with my health over the recent months and I just don't think it will be possible for me to go. Therefore I regret to announce I will not be attending.
It has even kept me out of the servers as one of the medications I have been taking induces some major vertigo and playing the game makes me nauseous within minutes (then again that might be LOM doing that - LOL)
 
This really bums me out, especially is this one is only about a 4 hour drive away. I have been looking forward to this all year, but sometimes other things have to take priority.
 
Hopefully I will be able to make next year's activities and look forward to seeing you all then.

Bob, Sorry you're having a rough time but things have a way of working out.
 
If you haven't already, I would STRONGLY suggest that you get a second and maybe even a third opinion on your wife's back before she has surgery.
 
20 years ago my wife had a bad bike accident. She hit a curb, flew over the handle bars and landed on her chin. It broke her jaw in 3 places and several years later we found out that the accident really messed up her neck. The pain was horrible and she was willing to do just about anything to help it stop. She ended up going to a spinal center in northern California and the doctor said that a simple fall or car accident could paralize her for life, and she needed to have surgery immediately which involved what they're telling your wife, fusing the vertebra in her neck with pieces of bone from her leg. She was all ready to go for it when a woman friend of ours who's husband was a doctor suggested getting a second opinion which we did with a neurosurgeon. That doctor told us that surgery wouldn't help, and he simply suggested yoga and medications to help with the pain. It's now 20+ years later and my wife takes her pain meds with a patch under her arm every three days and it keeps the pain in check without any side effects from the drugs. She runs 5 miles a day and has done a great job raising our three kids and continues to do so to this day.
 
I'm not saying that it will work exactly the same way for your wife, but before she goes under the knife (which could possibly make things worse) you both should talk to a couple different doctors for their opinions. Back surgery is a very big deal and I would tell anybody to only do it as an absolute last resort.

Well Howdy Radar, glad to see you're back & gaming again. Thought this post was gonna be another hxtr-style dirty laundry swinging in the breeze. Glad to see it's just a normal post.

I don't have a desk for my computer and it's to hard to play with the key-board on my lap, as a matter of fact i have no funiture cept my bed, I just got my internet hooked up today . When I was on before I had a 100mbps internet speed, and now I have 1Gbps. So when I get a desk , oh boy watch out I will be able to DIE that much quiker. My new job isn't going to give me allot of free time to play.

Now you are choosing to wreck the "XI Accord" hoping that it will make life easier for you. Take it easy buddy, get well and come back soon. Went and saw it last weekend. I am a bit of a Trekkie (not to the convention attending, uniform wearing type though)
I loved how they tied in the alternate timeline with the new and old content. I am not saying more as it will spoil some of the "oooooh" moments in the film
 
It is definitely worth a look at the theatre.
It is also a movie that total non-trekkies can watch and still enjoy
 
And for a comparison, compare this movie to the first Trek movie from back in '79 and, special effects aside, you can see the leaps they have made in the story line and approach. That steaming turd was one of the worst movies ever made, IMHO
