The latest driver version is not the same as the latest Catalyst version. The latest Catalyst version is 11.8, but in device manager.. my latest driver for my ATI Radeon 5800 series card is 8.881 Does this help? I just download the entire Catalyst update package (link johnny posted) and run it. It does it all. I have seen the INF thing too, but my drivers are getting updated. If you browse around on that site, you will see multiple examples of the Catalyst version being different than the actual driver version. Such as.. in the release notes for Catalyst 11.8.. it says: Package Content The AMD Catalyst Control Center / AMD Vision Engine Control Center 11.8 software suite contains the following: AMD display driver version 8.881 HydraVision™ for Windows® XP, Windows Vista® and Windows® 7 Southbridge/IXP Driver AMD Catalyst™ Control Center version 8.881 / AMD Vision™ Engine Control Center version 8.881. See... neat!

Yeah, odd how little things can make such a diff.. I used to have terrible trouble if I didn't have a usb drive plugged into a port on my old computer.. something to do with the drivers. It was an odd little quirk. Keep trying to sort it, you will find the right combo at some point to get it where you want it.

RD PT-Bama SO, just to be clear. You are on the same rig.. you just swapped from an external drive loaded with 32XP to a drive loaded with 64XP? If that is the case, then maybe this will help: I have had similar happen to me with corrupt directX drivers. I recommend uninstall/reinstall of vid drivers. The part that worries me is that you swapped from one OS to another on separate drives.. which might indicate that you are experiencing a graphic hardware problem. Try the drivers and see what happens. Let us know how it goes. Good Luck. actually its an internal drive. I have a multi boot setup controlled by OSL2000. The COD4 game is the only 1 suffering from visual issues as you see in the pics. I started up Blackops and its smooth and clean. Would not others be affected as well? just asking . I did rollback 1st then uninstall drivers on the 32Xp but i did not do that on 64XP install @ Bigmeandean.........i run it at 1024x768........if I run it at some high res. I cant see the damn text in game its small and my eyes are getting bad from meds I take and diabetes. I agree, it would affect all if it were a hardware issue... so that is good news. I will do some google digging too, I'm stumped at this point. I would agree with Dean.. play around with graphics and texture settings and see what happens. If you carried over your user folder from one drive to the other.. and your user profile was 'reset' when pb kicked you (if it was), it would explain crappy visual settings. I've had it happen before, and it is why I now keep a backup of my player profile on usb.

You guys need to have a signed agreement on how your are going to handle the rent. Friends is friends, but business is business. Also, it's tough for young couples to live together. If you are home, and the girl from the other couple is home.. and the others are not.... .well.. it can get complicated. Be careful!!!! That's the fastest way you could find yourself out on your ass (without a girlfriend). You need to know what you're getting into. Rent is one thing, but all the rest starts to add up QUICK. That $400 bucks you are talking about would only be 2 months rent (your share). You gotta eat, pay the light bill, gas, insurance, clothes, and misc. It is SO expensive to live these days. I'm not trying to talk you out of it, just know that it takes a lot of cash to get by. Last thing.. you are growing up, pretty much grown (but I know you don't feel grown up).. If you move out on your own, and are living with this girl...All grown up like... DO NOT mess up and get her preggers. Wow.. you think you don't have money now.. have a kid! X-RayXI PT-Bama Good job Ray.. yesterday was a hell of a day all over the servers. Never seen that much trouble before. Yeah was helped also by ST33L. Had a sad face to see HLSW and some servers down. I think it was like 5 / 7 servers down. Yep, and then apparently some of the 'fixes' blocked HLSW ports.. so they still looked down to some peeps (ST33L for one).. it was madness.
