Dell has owned Alienware for eight years but it has always been a totally autonomous subsidiary. But as to Dell support, here's my story: In 2009, I bought a dell with dual video cards, which would never sync in SLI. Since the games ran OK, I just forgot about it. But about two years later I came across a thread that Dell had many returns on this particular system so just for the hell of it, I logged a ticket with them. Support replied and took control of my machine but was never able to resolve it. And then, Dell told me that since I had filed the ticket on the very last day of a two-year support agreement, they would replace the system. Again, it was a Dell machine, but they sent me the Alienware Aurora with dual GTX 350s. Now that's pretty damned good support. BTW, the 350s in the Aurora also wouldn't sync; in googling that one I found others with the same problem which resulted from cramming those large GPUs over top one another such that the fan in the lower unit was sometimes impeded by a cable from the upper unit. And that was the problem with mine; moved the cable and the cards synced. However, now that one of the GPUs has died, I cannot run at highest resolution - single card overheats and occasionally locks up the machine. So that's my justification for upgrading. I can't upgrade to a 2GB card without replacing the mobo and I don't want to mess with that.

This will replace a three-year-old Alienware Aurora which is running the games just fine despite that one of the dual 1GB vid cards has fried. But I can't help myself because of the price: - Alienware X51; 8GB; GeForce GTX745 w/ 4GB DDR3; i3-4150; 1 TB. Total: $749.

Well that was a learning experience. I thought the mobo was bad because I wouldn't think you would even get to bios setup with an unsupported processor and once there, that it should no longer be reading the bios but waiting on your command.

Titty seems OK; talks a lot but as Spin says he's a camper and easy to find. Each to his own, but I don't see how you get anything out of camping in a single spot every map until you're found, and then just moving to a new spot. Quite boring! I camp on occasion too but I really enjoy the hunt. Every player brings something to the game. Collectively, it's the banter back and forth that really makes it enjoyable for me. I don't get mad at anyone; don't begrudge the usual winners; and just try to have a good time - and always do. I've played them all over the years and in every game, there's a core group of folks who make it real and make it work. But I think we've got just an outstanding collection of folks in COD5 MW. Hard to miss a day not getting together with them and it hurts when one leaves - Johnny, for instance. We miss you man. Stop in now and then will you?

Also good for giving the cat a bath. No scratches, etc. As well, it's perfect for washing and reusing my incontinence pads. The clothes washer tears them up but they do really well in the dishwasher where they don't get swished around.

That will happen when a player is very highly skilled and owns every map. Most of us play for the fun of it but even then, after a time you will tire of getting your backside handed to you.
