  1. Earlier today server was hung, even though it hadn't completely crashed. This was caused due to an incompatibility in the code. I have applied the changes and rebooted the server. If you still experience random "disconnects" or rotation restarts please post them here. Thank you for your patience, enjoy the games.
  2. hmm... I think you probably installed it a while ago and forgot about it. when I tested this, without the COD4x client you will stay stuck on the Acknowledge... screen. When you launch your game, what do you see on the bottom right corner?
  3. I haven't changed anything in the weapons. The game engine is modified by cod4x server so there maybe some things that I do not know about either.
  4. I was able to reproduce your issue. This applies to everyone who is using custom resolutions. COD4x Client supports a large variety of monitors and resolutions that didn't exist when the game was released. It will box your custom resolution if it is smaller than your monitor's native resolution. Your ESC key might not work. Please ensure your monitor's ratio is set to 1:1 and then only use your monitor's native resolution in-game. We are using the latest version of COD4x server and client.
  5. Folks using Windows 7, in order to install COD4x Client and have the game work properly you need this additional redistributables. Install everything, 2008 and onward. Let us know how this goes. 2010 Restributable https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26999 The latest: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170
  6. Okay you have the same problem as Deckard, I am going to add you to a PM where Totty provided some solutions. We believe you need some DLLs installed.
  7. Ah okay, I think what you are referring to is the expanded resolution support in COD4x client. It properly supports newer monitor WQHD resolutions and perhaps you have a widescreen monitor. Please set your monitor to 1:1 ratio, then choose the exact resolution in the game. As far as ESC key goes, I have experienced it too. I uninstalled and re-installed it then it went away. It's not that happens to everyone or all the time. This is a COD4x client behavior. I recall when this happened I removed COD4x then used the manual install method and it has worked fine. For me it was that I had to specifically press enter when making in-game menu selections. Hope that helps. Sorry for the trouble but this is a one-time pain to solve. Also, not server related since this is a client behavior.
  8. Video lag? Can you elaborate? Do you know of any other server you can join and test if you experience the same thing?
  9. Can you join some other server relay if you have the same issue? I cannot understand what you are saying. 10-15 second delay before map changes? You get shot then see the other person shooting?
  10. Ok this makes 2 people. Are you on Windows 7?
  11. They will work now. I had put a server var for steam players so their names would show up properly, but its unintended effect was on CD players, it would only use their folder name. I have fixed this now. @Totty Other people who have issues with names and who use Steam, please launch the multiplayer EXE directly. Known Behaviors - Names don't show on voice chat activation
  12. For folks with steam, launch the multi-player game directly from the installation folder, otherwise COD4x client will use your steam name as the game name. I recommend creating a desktop shortcut.
  13. @Uranium @pitbullpete I have added a var, try connecting and let me know how it works out.
  14. There's a server var that tells the client to not use the steam name. I think the cod4x client tries to mimic other steam games that use the steam name in the game. Are you available to test this? I don't have a steam installation of this game.
  15. You do not need to place the EXE installer in your game folder. It's a regular installer it will work from anywhere. COD4x Manual Install/Uninstall Now, download the manual installer/uninstaller from here : http://74.91.119.86/cod4xclient/cod4xclient.zip Put the unzipped folder in your game installation folder and then run uninstall.cmd - this will uninstall COD4x from your game. Once this works test that you can join the server. To install you only need to run install.cmd from the same folder. I have tested both installers on a non-steam game and it works without any issues.
  16. No, but its a known behavior. COD4x creates a new profile in. However, I am trying a server VAR, are you available for testing? I don't have STEAM and I can't test this. C:\Users\[YOUR WINDOWS USER NAME]\AppData\Local\CallofDuty4MW
  17. If you're around, please try again, I tried a setting I am hoping that helps with this.
  18. Yes, I tested again. The automated installer will find your game installation. It's pretty easy and straight forward.
  19. This is a known "issue", I need to investigate what exactly is different about Steam. Basically COD4x client creates a new profile for you. any volunteers to troubleshoot this live? I don't have Steam.
  20. I believe I ran it straight from the downloads folder but I'll check again. The manual installer requires you to copy the folder in the game installation folder.
  21. A few updates that are in test. - Flak jacket protective power is reduced my 10% - Tubes and RCXD explosive damage is reduced by 15% Known issues: - If you play the game thru steam and change your nickname it might not work the way you think. - To change your name /name MyNewName followed by /reconnect in your console - this works if you have the game installed via the disc
  22. I am not able to modify the original post, there was a linking error here's the fixed link. http://74.91.119.86/cod4xclient/CoD4x.21.3.Setup.zip Thank you @srt4fun for hosting the files on your server too. Rugger made a post here, you can download the files from the forum as well. @Sitting-Duc can we host this on our webserver behind a SSL powered URL?
  23. @Ruggerxi will put the client on our XI website for download. In the meantime, you can download it from a test server that we host. Manual Installer: http://74.91.119.86/cod4xclient/cod4xclient.zip Automated Installer: http://74.91.119.86/cod4xclient/CoD4x.21.3.Setup.zip This server doesn't have a SSL certificate so your browser will freak out about "insecure" download. It's fine, press "Keep". I put it there, if anything you will get some of my hacks, J/K.
  24. Yeah for whatever reason security software thinks it's not a legitimate website and will block it. I got spooked the very first time too when my firewall wouldn't let me thru. It's just the domain name that looks odd. I'll put your binary on our XI servers. To say it out loud I installed it from the exact same link that I posted.
  25. Folks, COD4x Client is now required to play on this server. This is intentional since we want to be able to use the advanced COD4x server and client side features. The COD4x protocol is simply not compatible with vanilla COD4 anymore. If you try to connect with a vanilla client it will tell you to go download the client. Here's a link to the client. https://cod4x.ovh/ https://cod4x.ovh/uploads/short-url/2V3RsE0Pp5Jakc1VE9Yuh5yb4lE.exe
