  1. @@Sammy I do, it happened when there were 5 ppl on the server. Everything was smooth and then I get a 2s CI just when Bones(Australia) connected. It was a very big map though.
  2. I notice the CIs happen when someone connects, especially if its someone with high ping (packet loss). I don't know if there is a solution to this. I suppose the mod is heavy and there is a lot of data being sent to the clients when they first connect, apart fron the map download.
  3. I just love those spawns where I can see skeletons of teammates in front of me. Then one genius who happens to be in the front of everyone by a millimeter decides to go on a philosophical debate of "to pee or not to pee" and the rest of us are stuck and end up losing spawn protection in spawn. There is nothing wrong with slightly randomized spawns with a spawn region. Random spawns suck when they are all over the map, you've no idea who will spawn on your ass and knife you.
  4. Have you already tried deleting previously downloaded files?
  5. @Cpts3xDonkey - Don keeeeeeeeeey hheee haawww hee hawww,
  6. speechless... I don't seeing becoming a productive member of society in his life time. Capital punishment is the right course of action, IMO.
  7. Ok so I installed my 270x cleaned the AMD drivers with their regular uninstall utility and then updated to 14.9 and played BF4 for 2.5 hrs. So far so good, no crash, nada, wohoooo! you got the 280x?
  8. This is something I can relate to as well. I had the same issues with BF4, where it was the only game crashing my GFX card (R9 270x). For me it was the DXDIAG ERROR DEVICE HUNG not on Windows 7 though, only on Windows 8. Also, I noticed that BF4 runs smoother on Windows 8 with increased FPS. Incidentally I had a 4870 lying around and when I suspected my 270x I RMA'ed it. On my 4870 512 MB I get 15-30 FPS on the lowest settings on BF4 and never once did it crash. Using the 270x I started using Mantle and I did get quite an FPS boost. I did try a GTX760 with which I did not have a single issue. So definitely, there is something to this combo of R9 series and BF4. I received my 270x but I haven't put it back in the system yet. I used the AMD Driver Clean utility for Windows 7 on Windows 8, it broke my registry so now I cannot uninstall programs. I wish I knew that beforehand. Anyways, I will post back when I get a chance to put it back in the system.
  9. haha, actually yes I skimmed through the thread at work. Now I am thinking I should start a !fu @@moonpie thread
  10. Have a blast man... and as @@NITRO once put it, don't get arrested.
  11. That's good now you're zeor'ing in on the source of the problem. Is it crashing only in game or regular desktop use (i.e. youtube, media player)?
  12. I am usually able to find memory problems within 30 minutes. If I understand correctly: - New PSU - New HDD - New GFX card - Fresh Windowa install - New case? Still random crashes? Take ur motherboard out of the case, put it on a non conductive anti static surface like wood. Boot ur system and check for stability. I am wondering if you have a grounding issue. What you describe points to memory instability. Did you configure the proper voltage for memory? What are the specs?
  13. some people just live for the hate...
  14. @@moonpie this is supposed to be a friendly @@GoOney bashing thread. There is a reason I put it in the Jokes section. You can write "fuck you gooney" or so, if he has annoyed you by killing you on more than one occasion or hell got no reason whatsoever.
  15. I like you man, you have funny side that works with my quirky humor.
  16. I have a very decent machine that I can use. Core2Quad at 3.6GHz with 8GB RAM and SSD. Also, I have a 12Mbps uplink which ought to be sufficient I think. Internal networking is wired and all on 1Gbps LAN network. How do I set it up or FTAG mod? I did a dedicated server experiment by setting it up through the mod selection in game but I don't have the maps so just used the stock maps. It wasn't working the way our mod on the host works though. Also, I think I discovered one cause of the lag. I was with @@Pressa on the server and Bones joined in from Australia with a 400ms ping. When he joined I got a red block and a yellow block and a CI. Once his ping stabilized to 300ms my connection was all better again to the server. So needless to say, I think players with high pings might be one big cause of this issue. Perhaps, we can put a maximum ping limit? When people with slow internet speeds try to connect to our server upon initial map load, their connections can't handle all that load and their ping spikes which lags everyone. At least, that's my working theory.
  17. Fewer CIs but not as frequent definitely better than the last server. There is some lag for me, I have to hit players twice for the most part to get hit registration. Players with very low ping, like < 50ms have the upper hand. My CIs on this last same amount of time as the last server ~10 secs but they are infrequent so it bothers me less. However, there is an issue of synchronization, I get yellow blocks in chunks. Overall, its better indeed and there will always be issues for some and not for others. I say if 70% of those who report, have reported no issue, we ought to keep it. @@Ruggerxi, who is our host this time? I mean what's the name of the hosting company. @@Sammy, I am just thinking out loud here, but can we host this mod on a private server, say my PC? I can host it on my network internet connection, open up the ports and play with people in regional proximity to me. I suppose I am wondering if the server starts to struggle when a lot of traffic is being sent to people connecting from farther corners of the globe (i.e. packet loss and what not).
  18. but I love that map, all that running around, up and down. So many places to hide, the jail cells, the basements, the open air grass areas, the communication tower. I mean, who doesn't like playing hide and seek for 3 hours?
  19. Minimap works in free spec mode, not when spectating a player. Also, the Killstreak box shows the wrong KS when you're spectating.
  20. This is a @@GoOney>XI< hate thread, post any and everything you've ever wanted to say to him. Y U NO DIE @@GoOney? When I shoot at you just fucking die! That's all you have to do, die . I feel better now.
  21. If you need a place to crash for a few months, @@hxtr has a room empty.
  22. It's the motherboard that effectively gives you dual/tripple/quad channel access to memory effectively increasing ur memory bandwidth. You can have DDR2 in quad channel too if the motherboard supported it along with the processor. If it crashes in any game I suspect your GFX card or ur RAM instability. Make sure the correct voltage for the RAM is set in the BIOS. multi-channel configuration stresses your Memory Controller a lot.
  23. That sounds like a memory error. BF series hogs memory VRAM and also system RAM. Generally gfx card crash gives u a BSOD. Sounds like a tedious debug.
  24. By the way Benrith, do you get the same crash consistently now? Or is it still random messages?
