Well I dug out the old CRT and the best I can do for Rez is 1600 x 1200.I hate to get a new monitor,this one works good yet and is very clear.Maybe I'll get one with my tax return. I defaulted the clock settings for this test.Much lower score now.Hey I got the 7870 on sale it's good enough for me.

Nope I can't get the Rez to go any higher than 1366 x 768. 138.9 fps and 3499 score. I'll dig out my big CRT monitor in a bit and see what it does then.

Cheese look at your resolution , bring it 1920x1080 and see what your score is. lol nvm give me a second I set it to custom rez. This PC has all the good stuff AMD has out.4.2 ghz 8 core AMD 16gb of very low latency memory and the best Asus Motherboard on the market.I suspect the FPS will drop a bit but the overall score may stay the same. 68.4 fps out of my little sapphire radeon hd 6870 1gb And my 7870 Double D BE 2gb card did amazingly well.139.3 fps That it max Rez for the monitor I have hooked up to it atm. CPU matters quite a bit with benchmark utilities.And a little overclocking goes a long way. Larsin how much heat are you putting out on that big ass card? I almost got a 7970 until I found out it's almost a foot long.The 7870 Double D is the best one I could fit in there without getting out the Saws-all or getting another case.

Only thing that is bugs me about the AMD FX 8 core CPUs is that you will have to Disable Core Parking on 4 of the cores to get rid of Micro Shuttering while gaming.It's pretty easy to do though. Oh I'm also using 1 Intel 520 series 240gig SSD for OS and a few games and 1 2tb WD black hdd for storage.Got them on sale to.lol

Make sure you have room for a Card that's 11.42" long if you get the 7950.That Nvidia card will get Smoked by that ATI card.Nvidia card is 192 bit and ATI is 384 bit.That's almost twice the memory bandwidth. I love my FX 8350 and Asus Crosshair v Formula z mobo.I had to get a different Video card than the 7950.Don't have room for that long of a card in my case.I ended up getting the XFX Double D FX-787A-CDBC http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150606 It was on sale for $209.99 on Black Friday.It's being RMAed ATM I kinda fried the VR module on my 7870.A went a little to far on my volt mod.I have an XFX 6770 in there that I borrowed from the shop. I have 2 PCs built up fairly good.Both are AMD FX chips.1 8350 and the other 8320.They both over clock very very well.My 8320 is currently running at 4.7 ghz it's 3.5 ghz stock. Both are Water cooled with Corsiar H80 CPU coolers.My OCed 8320 runs at 28c idle 38-40c under full load. I haven't owned an Intel chip in Many Many years.Could never afford the ridicules prices on the decent ones.So I really have no idea how they compare. My 8350s case has no Cable management and not much room for anything else.The 8320s case has a crap pile of room.

I LOVE Win 8.You just have to Mold it to your Personal needs. Metro BLOWS but after you manage to totally eradicate Metro,it's a very very fast and Stable OS.Alot better than most OS when they were 1st released and the way it handles Memory usage is amazingly efficient.My Win 7 machine uses almost 2 gig of memory just sitting there idle on the Desk top.My Win 8 machine uses MAX 250mb sitting idle on the desktop.This is with Norton Utilities and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware PRO retail version installed and actively scanning on both machines. Did I mention Win 8 bakes Pies? nom nom nom Lemon Meringue pie.

Sorry you can't run them in SLI Rescue. They changed alot of crap in the last couple years.You used to be able to SLi 2 different Nvidia cards up until the 300 series came out,according to guru3d.com and a couple other forums that I found. I had a 9600GT and a 9800GT in Sli for a couple years and it worked great. Are the boxes for the video cards open?If so it can't hurt to test them in COD4 and see which is faster. Open the Console and put /cg_drawFPS 1 (for the FPS meter) and /com_maxfps 0 (Removes the FPS Limit)

I have an ATI 6870 that I was Told was Faster that the ATI 5870 but they were tested on Different machines.I borrowed one of the Shops 5870s to test it myself and the 5870 is almost 2x as fast when compared in the same PC. Rule of thumb.Compare Manufacture Hardware specs.If it looks faster or slower than 90% of the time it will be faster or slower. BMD your 2gb memory bandwidth is a bit slower(128 bit vs 256 bit) than the 650 with 1gb according to HW compare.If your card has 256 bit memory bandwidth it is faster that the 650.Look at the bottom for the cards that they compared. 2gb GTX560 they used has 128 bit and the 1gb 650 has 256 bit. Memory Bandwidth is a HUGE thing when it comes to Speed.

Use them both in SLI mode if your motherboard supports Hybrid SLi. The gtx 550 Ti is a tiny bit faster than the 650.Most of it's speed comes from Slightly higher memory bandwidth. I noticed something funky with my Windows Re-installs.I was getting several corrupt driver installs until I got .NET Framework installed.After that everything went smooth as silk. It Corrupted the Following drivers, Graphics (Video card) driver,Sound card driver,Network driver and it would not even let me install the SATA drivers or Raid Monitoring utilities that I use. After Installing .NET FrameWork it let me install my NIC driver and all 164 windows updates without a hiccup. It's a good thing that I downloaded the Redistributable copy of .NET Framework and burnt it to disk or I would of been screwed.I have 2 older versions of Windows 7 64 without SP1.It doesn't have drivers for the newer Intel NIC. I almost reinstalled the whole OS again after it corrupted those drivers but Managed to get Driver Sweeper to run and reinstalled the drivers.

You can get rid of Internet Explorer in Windows Vista,7 and 8.Mine has been removed for quite some time now. Click Start Menu and Search for "Turn Windows features on or off" scroll down and un-check Internet Explorer. As for Java,yes it's a giant fuck hole that we can live without. I use Firefox with AdBlock Plus.It blocks ALL popups and you can set it up to Block Banners on web sites which is awesome. I haven't had a virus in years.Streaming your p0rn0 instead of downloading it helps quite a bit.

I have 1 suggestion.Remove All sniper rifles but the R700.All the Scopes are identical and the Damage from all of them are Identical.This will remove any chance of people using the Scroll wheel or Auto fire key bind.And it will save ALOT of headaches in the long run. I have never used rapid fire to shoot anyone but I have used it to blast myself like 200 feet into the air with the M21.It's a Load of fun and I just can't seem to play without goofing around to some extent.I mean it's Fun and Sniping can be rather BORING especially when your KDR is around 5 kills 50 deaths.
