srt4fun got a reaction from Cecilia in Big thank you to PickleRick /Limord needs PC help
Could be a few things (CPU/GPU overheating, page file too small, corrupt files, driver issues, hardware issues, etc)
I second what Hatchetman said, give it a good dusting, if you haven't already.
Does it happen in other games? (YES: issue likely with system. NO: uninstall/reinstall CoD)
Do you notice stutters/lag when not playing games (like browsing the web, playing music, or videos)? (YES: generally hardware issue (HDD/RAM/CPU) but maybe windows/software issue. NO: possibly driver problem, corrupt directx files, GPU problem, overheating)
When playing CoD, do your fans spin up like it's trying to fly away? (YES: possible hardware overheating...double check with temperature monitoring software!* (if needed, clean the PC and/or repaste CPU/GPU). NO: could indicate other hardware/software faults.)
What are your PC's specs?
Last time thermal paste redone? (if ever, lol)... Usually recommended every 1-3yrs for gaming rigs... depending on level of cooling performance you require and quality of paste, of course.
*Normal CPU/GPU temps, at load, are anything up to about 65-75C (up to ~85C for GPUs). Generally, anything above that (for desktop PCs) is "overheating" (assuming no overclock with appropriate cooling). If load is applied and CPU/GPU temp quickly rises to 90-100C, you have a cooling problem.

Thank you Totty!
I was very glad to assist even though I wasn't quite able to prevent it from crashing. Looked at the event logs, fixed some persistent errors but that didn't seem to help. The memory error was obviously not the reason since I checked both the SSD space (plenty) and ran a RAM test to check and fix RAM health. Updated the graphics drivers. Booted in safe mode and tried running COD4 in compatible settings... As @Hatchetman mentioned it could quite probably be a hardware reason.
(An error she gets often. I even did the following to prevent it:
Registry Editor.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Media Foundation\Platform.
Create/set EnableFrameServerMode registry DWORD to 0.
Reboot
UPDATE: Installing the cod4x patch fixed it.

I've heard of reports that that error is a CPU fault. Perhaps is your CPU a 13th or 14th gen Intel?

Ahh gotcha, I assume Rick increased the size of the windows paging file and that you are not actually running low on HDD space, lol

I've had that issue with the PC app before. I believe going to the website Welcome to Steam (steampowered.com) and resetting my password there worked.

srt4fun reacted to Labob in Smart plugs powerline ethernet and dirty electricity
I whis I could its a big house 3 stories office is in the 4th bedroom conversion so is the fiber . running cat 6 through the house I would have to create a room in teh basement to collect everything. Such a big big job. Thats why I'm trying to find a way to filter one outlet and not have it cut the bandwidth. If possible which seems like a lot of work too 🙂

I used to use them as well for TVs and such. Found that if they were on the same leg they would work better. But even so, if certain appliances turned on it would disrupt the network. Even if they were on the same branch circuit they would get slow. Got so fed up I just ran Cat6 to each room, lol. Filters aren't necessarily a good thing, had a power strip that had a filter in it but the power line adapter would not work, while plugged into it, until I removed the filter from the strip, hahaha. My whole house is automated with zwave and zigbee devices so I agree with you that filtering each device is really not going to happen...probably cheaper (and much much more reliable) to just run cat6 through the house than to buy filters for each device!

srt4fun reacted to Angelz in Cannon Hinnant
https://ocscanner.news/2020/08/13/wilson-nc-murder-suspect-arrested-after-shooting-5-year-old-boy-point-blank/
WHAT THE FUCK !!! THE whole nation stood together in solidarity for the senseless death of George Floyd. So I’m curious, how many will stand together in solidarity & demand justice for the senseless death of Cannon Hinnant? Did he not matter?
He was 5 years old. He was white. This past Sunday, he was riding his bike in front of his house & Darius Nathaniel Sessoms, a black male, walked up, shot & killed Cannon.
A 5 year old white boy was shot & killed by a 27 year old black male, on purpose for no reason.
Did you read that?
Why does one life matter so much it captures our Nation but no one is talking about this? I don’t want to look away. I hope you can’t. I want to know why this little boy & this senseless death is not just as important.
Who is going to paint “Cannon” in the side of a building? What National sports team is going to wearT-shirts with his name on them? Every single person should be demanding justice for Cannon.

srt4fun reacted to Dogg in Tithe
One Sunday, when counting the money in the weekly offering, the pastor of a small Florida church found a pink envelope containing $1,000.
It happened again the next week.
The following Sunday, he watched as the offering was collected and saw a little old lady put the distinctive pink envelope in the plate.
This went on for weeks until the pastor, overcome by curiosity, approached her. “Ma’am, I couldn’t help but notice that you put $1,000 a week in the collection plate.”
“Why yes,” she replied, “My son sends me money every week, and I give 10% of it to the church.”
The pastor replied, “That’s wonderful, how much does he send you?”
The old lady said, “$10,000 a week.”
The pastor was amazed. “Your son is very successful; what does he do for a living?”
“He is a veterinarian,” she answered.
“That is an honorable profession,” the pastor said. “Where does he practice?”
The old lady proudly said, “In Nevada. He owns two cat houses in Las Vegas, and one in Reno.”

Awesome! Mine is a blue 2004, with ~250k miles and still running strong! Bought it while I was stationed in Germany and drove it on the Autobahn...155mph was pretty nuts, lol. It stays parked for the most part, but take it out when I want to have fun. Currently, my daily driver is a Dart 1.4 turbo.

Nice, I had a 95 neon sport manual, it was quite a fun gokart of a vehicle. I'm quite a Mopar fan myself.
