The closest I get to old radio programs is my annual viewing of the BEST Christmas movie ever, A Christmas Story. For those that don't know, it was written and narrated by Jean "Shep" Shepherd, a famous radio and TV personality from the 40s and 50s who, funny enough, got his start in Cincinnati, Ohio. The whole movie plays out like a radio show with so many great scenes that hit you right in the nostalgia muscle. Here's one of my faves.. "It's a Clinkerrrrr!!!!" "In the heat of battle, my father wove a tapestry of obscenity that, as far as we know, is still hanging in space over Lake Michigan" Classic... Somebody say steak??? Nice little Surf & Turf with the family. Bone-in côte de boeuf right out of the butcher paper, tossed a little Montreal steak spice on there (the way dad likes it), light sear in a smoking hot cast iron pan, then in the oven til it hit 105ºF. Nice! I like the long intro with multiple shots setup showing them getting there on the bike. And that radio! Sweet! The way the kids faces light up when the tunes start...haha! Yeah man! A couple baitfish, some turmeric, some bread, all cooked by a small fire...love it. Thanks for sharing. Perspective and whatnot.
