  1. Yea I think I know what the problem is with that. It would happen in between the time you throw it, you die, but before it explodes. I have been in the middle of some other things and havent had time to see if I can upload a fix.
  2. Interesting problem. Not sure why that would matter. Try to do it again in the future and see if this is consistent.

  5. Yes I did. And yea with this idea it will take thought on how to do it. For example the blast might be larger than the emitter. Maybe the emitter range is only 1/2 of what the blast was.
  6. I had a thought about emp nades and cars. In 1.46 make it more than just a single explosion but behave more like an emitter that saturates an area for 10 seconds. If the car enters the area it is dead. So you can throw it in its path and wait for the car to come into the area. To be fair it has to be short lived and the little white flare might not be good enough for cars to see it and avoid it. Comments?

    That one tells you how to remove the virus but there isnt much you can do about decrypting files. The only thing you can do is hopefully restore from earlier copies. Unless something is truly important that you cannot retrieve by some other means do not pay the ransom. In the future do regular checks for this kind of thing and keep backups of important files. Keep multiple copies of backups with different dates when you do it in case a back is already encrypted.

  12. I have seen sometimes on different servers where one of my WASD keys would get stuck and I wouldnt stop moving to the left or the right. I had to shut down the game and start over. No idea why it happened.
  13. If an actual shut down was needed, not just leaving and reconnecting to the server, perhaps something got messed up with keybinds? Leaving the server would clear out everything mod related except dvars but the care package doesnt use them for securing. All very strange.
  14. I will go through it today and make sure something isnt amiss. It will always remain time played but will check.
  15. Since others were able to take the same package without a problem there is something else going on. In the future if it happens more keep an eye out for things that are common for when it does happen to you compared when it doesnt.

  18. Hmm. Maybe I did that at the same time I did the sentrygun but forgot. So the question is... should this ability actually be removed? After all, some people tell me more ways need to be included to deal with the cars. Not have things taken away.
  19. When you get the death machine press the 'special weapon' key to switch to it. You dont have to activate it. Because there has been confusion over this the next mod has a hud element with the correct keybinding so you will know what to do. Are you absolutely sure an RC was killed by a heli?
  20. Only one air support strike at a time. If one is in progress all other players, including the calling player, will be told airspace is closed or something like that. Or simply that its not available. I am told that because artillery is a pretty long streak some people use that to their advantage at the beginning of a round. It prevents the enemy from calling in airstrikes. I thought of changing that somehow to make it shorter but I am going to leave it alone because with the stacked streaks it is likely there will be more heli's on round start. Also, if SAMs are deployed they will kill the launcher.
  21. Yea I saw four as well and my first thought was 'uh oh' because the current mod is not designed to handle it. The actual max is eight but it must account for the normal heli streak and also whatever the map has. I have seen maps that have their own helis as flybys. With stacked streaks there is a greater chance there would be more than four so this had to be done.

  23. Ok lots of info below.... An example of the can of worms a big change like this makes. Even a good one. The care and strike packages need some significant rewriting to allow for three awards. A fourth when you include the tac nuke. Awards will not replace what you already have but if your stack is full you will not be able to take it. Throwing the marker frees a slot so rarely will this be a problem. But if in the meantime an enemy dies normally and you get an award you will have to use one. Its a tradeoff but worth it I think. You will also have to worry about enemies more since they dont have to worry about losing a streak when stealing it. The number of airdrops in the game at any one time will be limited to four. If the total is already reached you will have to wait. This is to keep down the number of heli vehicles so it doesnt go over the limit. I may also limit a specific player to a max of two at a time. Since the SAM and sentries will go to the stack you can have multiple ones in your inventory like normal streaks. However because of this you will be limited to two SAMs and two minigun/nades at the same time. Older ones will be destroyed. This is consistent with explosives and the paid-for games. It also keeps the number at any one time to a more manageable level. Hacked turrets are included in this. This change, while positive, will also have other effects specific to ftag that need to be thought about. A player can maybe keep two RC's in reserve. If there are few players left on his team he can use both to defrost many players. Same with two defrosters since their range was recently increased from what it was before. Find them and destroy them. Dont let 'the other guy' worry about it. Its not that there will be more than there were before but more likely to be kept until needed. You might see the high value streaks kept until conditions are best because they can still get the lower ones. They may also be more likely to be kept until the beginning of the next round. So get out of spawn quickly. Yes I do spend a lot of time thinking about gameplay and comments are welcome. There are other things that I probably havent considered yet. All these things also require debugging and when the mod is online I will greatly appreciate your patience and as much help as possible and people playing it. In the end it will be worth it.
  24. Of course you know that when some people read 'do not attempt or you will die' the first thing they do is think about how to do it.
  25. Well there are always little things to do when there is a big addition. Because it is more likely people might build up care packages over time without using them there might be instances in a big game where 10 people might try to call them in at the same time. But with limitations on the number of helicopters the game can support doing so would crash the server. So have to figure out a way around that. I might do something similar to airstrikes and limit it to four airdrops in the game at any one time. I recently did see four at the beginning of a round. If you switch to your marker, but none are available, you are switched back to your primary with a message that you have to wait a little bit.
