  1. No dedi servers? Again? Thats not good.
  2. No changes from stock for C4, frag grenades, or rpgs. Not even their models. All pistols are osok depending on range because of the low health associated with hardcore. You can snipe with pistols because that is how they made the game. Pistols can literally fire as far as sniper rifles. The difference is the fov, recoil and the rest. And obviously the scope. I will test out the defroster health. It should be pretty tough against bullet weapons but not so much against explosives. Full defrost time is four seconds. Default range is same as a standard sentrygun. The slow 'pulses' are just the fx. Just as the minigun fx for the sentry are just for show. The actual beam is invisible, like player defrosts. As for the emp, other than bumping up the range the answer is that it functions as intended.
  3. I will see how much defensive strength the defroster has. edit: ok defroster health defaults at 1000. Which is pretty high. However explosives have a pretty large multiplier against turrets. A melee is an automatic kill.
  4. You have hardwired and emp nades to help. But they arent foolproof. They arent supposed to be. There is nothing to fix.
  5. Could always go back to the way it was when cod first had the car. Meaning no protection at all.
  6. As for the perk, most people dont run around with tacmask anyways but I will have to think about it.
  7. It might be possible but I never tried it with flash or stun or even smoke. However the ability is limited to frags. They are not anti-car nades they are emp nades. If I do the flashbang thing they dont need to be on the ground and just have a timer. Besides, shouldnt an explosive device blow off your hand at a minimum? If you remember, in the past the jammer didnt just prevent firing but actually stopped the car. Those with the perk loved it. Those with the car hated it. You blocked the car then naded it with emp. That was considered too powerful so the freezing part was removed to be more balanced. On next server restart the emp range will be a bit larger so people can see how it goes.
  8. The nade class would have to work as a flashbang. So for example it would not work with a flare to defrost otherwise it would float in the air. It also wouldnt be able to go as far. I suppose I could so something where a flash would affect the car like a player. It wont disable it but blind and stun it for a moment. That is probably straightforward to do because the car is just the player with a car mesh anyways. It would go with the flashbang. If this is acceptable I will see what I can do today. I am in the middle of a couple other things right now.
  9. Yes, unless you have armor piercing. Which is why the icon is a helmet.

  11. You will see it even with AP. Its just to show you that yes he has armor. But I can see how that can be confusing so perhaps something else would be better. Maybe the AP icon if the player has armor or another existing icon if you have one that comes to mind. I know about armor and explosives. Its too good. In 1.46 it will work differently just not sure yet how. It should provide protection but less than it does now. I am open to suggestions.
  12. Could you be more specific about AP and body armor? The car has always been considered by many to be a 'cheap' kill in all the various games it has appeared. That is to say, considered by its victims. Which is why there are emp nades and hardwired. The emp nade has the same timing as a stun. Quite a few people hate Betties also but not going to remove em.
  13. Quick question: How many people actually use all 10 saved class loadouts? Or do you just use the 5 with one of each type?
  14. Yes spectators, except clan members, have lower priority than others. Both in terms of active players given higher weights but also because playtime does not increase for spectators. However whatever time spectators already had... say if they went for a drink... does not go away. Redirects are not perfect and never will be.
  15. Been there. Done that. People dont stay. Not that there arent enough players out there to do it. They just dont want to be the first or wait for other people. The 1.46 mod ready for testing soon. 1 or 2 additions suggested that I want to see if they can be added without too much trouble or breaking anything. When that happens you are welcome to join it and invite others. Sound like a plan? Hmmm?
  16. It works. You need to press the special weapon key to switch back and forth. You also dont have to 'activate' it. Unlike Duke there is no timer. However you also dont get all the big health and armor. Also no speed boost. Just the gun. Even so if the death machine didnt work the first time it would have been good to tell me about it. Many people neglect to do things like that. Also make sure I dont forget about it, which I do alot. I thought about the streaks and wondered if for the server it might be a good idea to disable certain streaks once in a while for a week to generate more variety. What if there was no uav? Or helicopters? No mininuke? No different than reality. Often things are down for maintenance and not available.

  18. Go Giants! Pretty disheartening their loss in game 6 but they won in KC before and they can do it again. Lets whip those Royals.
  19. Yup finally found it. And yes it was one of the temp changes I made for the test but it was buried in the scripts and had to hunt for it. All is good and a big thank you to everyone that helped track down the problem and put up with all the server restarts. As for the cars cars cars everywhere, it was somewhat in the realm of the vehicle games in UT but much faster. Not everyone's cup of tea.
  20. Only thing I can think of is maybe not everyone didnt change their disabled streak from the car to something else. Should have been disabled anyways but maybe not. Cars reenabled. edit Ok someone tell me this...................... to get the unlimited RC took two lines of code. Just two. Restarted the server. Now the lines are gone. File back to what it was yesterday. Exactly the same. So why is the problem still there?
  21. Ok I wanted to see how the server would run with lots of cars at the same time and lots of cars in a match. Would it work smoothly? Or would it cause issues? Seemed to run ok. Which is good. It is turned off at the moment until later this evening when there arent as many players when I can make sure its all set up properly.

  23. No it is just for today. Patience young padawan. There are no 'infinite' killstreaks except for the car test that was only supposed to last for a couple rounds last night. Right now you might be seeing them occasionally as care package awards but thats all.
  24. I am sure there are some people with floppy drives laying around. But yea more than likely the magnetics on the disk are just unreadable at this point. When it says formatted to IBM it just means DOS 16 bit.
  25. With no car I am seeing more helicopters and a couple other things. Interesting to see how many use 1 of 3 for that streak. For now, if anybody sees a car its via a care package.
