  1. I was in SF one day before their new digs at the Presidio were to open to the public for its grand opening. Unfortuantely I had to leave the next day. I talked for a couple minutes to an ILM guy out front who was directing something or other, nice guy, to see if I could just check out the grounds a little bit because I was leaving but of course nobody could get in. Times have changed since the late 70's.
  2. Yes they are already bound. This would just be so it is easier to understand and keep things together but not necessarily better depending on your pov. It would be the same menu as 'follow me' or the others. But its only just an idea. When you think about it however it is already much faster than its supposed to be because unlike MW2+ I dont use planting animations. Nor do you have to actually hold the sentry before you can plant it. So even a couple keypresses is still much faster than what was intended. The way it currently is, you dont lose your sentry on death. So in a frantic situation you might be better off keeping it unti the next time so you can place it exactly where you want. Dropping it quickly might be in a poor location and the sentry is wasted.
  3. Scripting-wise it is possible. The question would be the means to do it and accounting for the various conflicts. For one it would have to be like using paddles in BF where you have to stand next to the other player. But there wouldnt be animations. You push the button and voila it is done. If the other player already has a streak prevent a transfer. Also no scoreboard-like thing were you can choose any player. I assume one of the ideas for example would be to get a UAV, give it to someone who waits until you then get an airstrike, then he turns it on and you launch your strike. If it is something a lot of players tell me they would actually use I'll look into it. If nobody does then I will assume the answer is no. The care package one is needed because of brain dead players but this one really is not. Thx for the idea tho and if anyone has others post them. Dont be shy. I might move 'drop object' and 'activate special weapon' to it for consistency. Its already been discussed previously but because it is impossible to get anyone to go onto the other server when this next one is ready it would be put into the main server and switched over on an as-needed basis. Run it for a couple maps to check it all out with lots of players... hopefully they dont all leave... then change it back to the current mod when finished.
  4. Any ideas? Anyone? Bueller?
  5. He didnt say which mod. That kind of thing should only happen if CAP is enabled by the server. Everyone would see it.
  6. Hi all, Been experimenting with adding a fourth category to the quickmessage window to be used for actions. For example it would be for unlocking care packages to friendlies, as was mentioned in another thread. If that option is enabled then by default care packages are locked to the owner and enemies only. No friendlies. But the menu can be used to unlock all the players care pacakges currently on the map so a friendly can take it. Having a team that works together and talks to each other is preferable but if the team has douches on it that take packages without permission this should help. This is currently the only action in the menu but there is room for a few more and I am open to suggestions. It cant be anything weapon related like throwing a grenade or unfreezing... stuff requiring you to hold a button... but the kind of thing you might set up in the multipler options window. Dropping a sentry or things like that.
  7. If the problem happens because of non-standard settings such as jump height then change them back. The reason for such changes is to allow players to do things they normally are not supposed to be able to do. In other words, in a way the creators did not intend for the game to be played. If I complain that people here are able and allowed to jump higher than what was intended, and it is an unfair advantage, then I will be told too bad. If however I go somewhere that the mapper didnt intend, because I could jump higher, then I will be told to move or be kicked. Its inconsistent. So if 'intent' is the issue then change the settings back to stanard.
  8. Unless they fixed it there will never be a sign of imminent failure. They just do one day.
  9. No. He invented the WWW. The Internet was first developed by DARPA.
  10. Of course I could be wrong.
  11. Standing over a subway grate. Oh and I am pretty sure Marylin wasnt a natural blonde.
  12. Lets just hope he doesnt go Marylin Monroe on us.
  13. Well there is that time Canada was run by Saddam Hussein. Also dont forget how Canada threatened and outpaced the US in advanced Zamboni technology. Funniest thing about the Internet, it was invented and funded with research money given by the government to a government agency. At the time quite a few thought it was a waste of money. Interesting how things turn out.
  14. Keep in mind America is a nation that makes shows like Jackass lots of money for their media lords. It is also a nation that made Honey Boo-Boo and her fried butter family stars.
  15. Personally, I dont think they are mature enough to justify the price per gb. Dont use them for constant data writing because there are a finite number of them it will accept before it wont accept any more. Also worst of all, it wont tell you if it is starting to fail. I would put the money into a fast and reliable hdd.
  16. Thx for the redeem code. Downloading now.
  17. Shame to see spam like that because there are a couple people I knew online years ago that I would love to hear from again. Ah well.
  18. Maybe its Ralph Palmer and his five brothers?
  19. Where does she put the crumpets?
  20. "All fucking chillies must fucking hang." To paraphrase Sergeant Mother.
  21. Yup I get emails with that tagline once in awhile. Careful, sounds like she cheats.
  22. It would be in the same menu that has the 'on me' type of stuff.
  23. If they actually showed her dropping to the ground and running away it would be credible. But of course that part is conveniently missing. Still, maybe she learned how to fly after experimenting on moose and squirrel.
  24. Is that a new definition of a tea bagger?
  25. Oh thats funny.
