  1. Bunny hopping is annoying but those players are not hiding. Neither are drop shooters. If anything those that do can be some of the most vulnerable in the game. When in the air or going prone they cannot dodge. You also know exactly where they are going to land and all you have to do is wait for them. Tubes are not a big problem either, nor perk 1 explosives in general, because you only get two of them. Always satisfying to pick off someone that hops right in your direction in the hope of shooting you. They are sitting ducks, so to speak.
  2. For bunnies... I hate bunnies also. Not going to do the usual method of disabling weapons however. That would leave a player defenseless. Maybe do something else. Remember that on this server the normal jump slowdown is disabled so its much harder to shoot them.
  3. Server should already have had numbers doubled for the timer, how quick it adds up if you dont move, and the number of points required for termination. With these numbers if you get 30 points or more on you then you are a good camper. Marked? Then you are a true master. Changes to come when I get the next script online. Defrosting of any length, even just 1 second, will reset the checks but will not remove or reduce the bounty itself. I could do a timer thing but I figure just making the effort will be good enough. No termination icons in overtime. The last player left will not have a termination icon. If he had one it will be removed. Not sure yet how to handle 'restore' if the team gets back up to strength. A player will not receive any messages to move until he is marked. Out of sight out of mind. So if you dont see the bag they cant see you. But points can still be collected on you.
  4. Sentries are also quite powerful. Especially now since you keep unplaced sentries through death. Knifing sentries is also part of the game. Cars can be annoying but compared to grenade spam it is nothing. Especially blind grenade spam. Funny how I hear so much about the cars but nobody suggests I should cut grenade damage and range in half.
  5. Yes, this is likely why it was made so fast. Not to chase people around but to defrost more players. I remember when I added that ability. It was controversial. It often turned the tide of a battle almost won and some didnt like it when that happened. And now? Nobody has any problems with it.
  6. Like I said I am adding ftag specific exemptions for certain situations. Yes if you are the last player you most of the time have no choice but to camp. I know this. I am not stupid. If you are that bad of a camper during the rest of the game then I have no sympathy but anti-camp will not apply in that kind situation anyways. Said many many times when the next compile is uploaded the bubble will change. In fact I think I will stop saying it.
  7. The purpose of sniping is concealment and scoping to pick off your enemies off at a distance. Hiding in a container or in a window with an assault rifle is ambushing. I must remind people that just seeing the bag on the 2D hud doesnt by itself mean you are targeted. It means whoever shoots you gets a bonus. You will have to be pretty bad to actually get targeted. Not get caught once. Not twice. Not three times. But many times. And once collected it restarts from zero. I am at this very moment adding code that will stop bounty increases and cancel any targeting on overtime. Things are quite generous to moderate campers, will be more so, and it is not asking a lot.
  8. The problem with the cars is not the kills required. But because its settings are above the defaults to make it more powerful that it should be for a hard core game. It was fine before imho but then the complaints were that it wasnt powerful enough and not fast enough. So now the damage is higher and the speed is lightening fast. Made them more attractive to set in the loadout. Same with the mininuke. Its current settings are higher than the defaults due to complaints. Like I said the RC most of the time only gets one kill. Not very good really since it requires you to waste one of the three loadout options. And with all the counter measures players can choose from its not a guaranteed kill either. Most defaults are generally set with a soft core game in mind but options to customize values. Meaning for example the RC would be against a player with 100 health. Keep in mind this is a server where some people get upset when they cannot kill an enemy with a single shot to the foot.

  10. Snipers are exempt. You will only be targeted if you are a really bad camper. And I mean really bad such that you refuse to move "at all". edit: I invite any non-sniper to admit to everyone here that he refuses to move less than the length of two doors in a 60 second period. Sniper means you are holding a sniper rifle not an assault rifle.
  11. Do you camp continuously? No? Then this is a non issue for you. Funny you mention the ACE mod and the threads I have read recently complaining about spawn campers and such.
  12. An exception is being added for desfrosting and yes it will reset. You dont have to do a full defrost. You just have to make the attempt and do it a little bit. Also for using streaks like picking out airstrike locations. So far testing locally works well.
  13. Considering you will only have to move a distance of 150-200 units in a 60 second window this isnt much to ask. That is less than double the height of a door. Less than the blast radius of a frag. If an assault or specops player refuses to move that far then I have zero sympathy. Especially if this happens many times over the course of a single life. Otherwise only a matter of bonus points, like Avenger. There will be exceptions. Defrosting will cancel any checks. Bounties will not go up during overtime. If other exceptions present themselves I will go through them. The sever should already be up to 60 seconds. Some servers use settings that pretty much require you to constantly run and gun. If you dont it will disable your weapon. I dont like either of those things.

  15. Annoying to whom? People that dont camp? Or campers? Anyways targeting is based on points not time. It currently requires a bounty of 50, which is deliberately low right now. Otherwise its just points to the other guy when he gets you. Next map the move time will be raised from 30 seconds (also set low for testing) to 60. All you have to do is move 150 units during that 30 seconds. Surely you can do that. Like I said, part of testing is to find out what works and what is missing. For one, because there seems to be some confusion, I am going to change the moneybag icon on the 2D hud so it only shows if you are actually targeted. Otherwise printline nofitications will tell you that the price has gone up. So if you dont see the bag you know they cant see you. Going to be uploading some additions late this evening, once I am sure they work, that will account for defrosting and being in an RC. Besides, if you want to snipe from a tower get a sniper rifle.
  16. Why? Because I hate campers. Various settings are on low right now for testing to make sure there are no errors. The targeted thing will be raised but its supposed to give you away if you camp like a bitch. And the only people that seem to hate it are those that get caught camping.
  17. Ok thx. Since its a nade to affect electronics the stun affect should only be for a short time. Currently its 2 seconds from start to finish, depending on distance. Think I will bump that up to 3 and see what happens.
  18. You mean if a player jumps off a building or something like that? No that shouldnt happen. There should be a check that makes sure you are touching the ground. Like activating the RC. Maybe I missed something. Semtex should attach as well as the Crossbow bolts. I will check to be sure. I must say that so far the bounty system is doing exactly what it is supposed to. If you camp occasionally then all it might do is give some extra points to whoever gets you. Otherwise you are unaffected. But do it too much and you get marked. I know that sometimes you have to stay in one place to avoid being fired on. So Im stil working on the numbers. However by far most of the time its the real campers that are affected by this because if someone is shooting at you then your immediate reaction would be to get out of Dodge. And yes, hiding under something and looking straight ahead for someone to walk in front of your sights is camping. Staying in one small spot with a scar-h is camping. Get an M21. Even so, say you are on the second floor of a building with an MP5. Just move around now and then instead of being a potted plant and constantly looking out the same window. I will be adding exceptions such as standing while defrosting. Not sure how I will handle that yet. Also, if you are the last player your bounty will not go up. But you will retain whatever you already have.
  19. Nobody has said anything about the little stun addition to EMP. Maybe that means its not big enough for anyone to notice.
  20. Going to be tweaking the numbers but bounties will help deal with excessive camping. I know some people wont like it but the numbers will be such that you will really have to stick in one area for a reasonable amount of time before it kicks in. Correct, protruding through walls is a game thing. Walls are usually aligned to the ^2 game grid based on game standards. 64/128/256 units etc. Guns will protrude from player collision boxes. So even when touching a wall some guns, like snipers, will show. Often the ones that take advantage of this are hackers. Remember that the sentryguns in MW2 had a glitch that allowed them to be placed in walls. Which is why in the mod they drop at the exact spot you are standing, like weapon drops, not in front of you. Wall spamming is part of the game. Armor... see my comparison to condoms. Best way to explain it. Invisible walls, gotta complain to the map makers about that. Unfortunately because people want high speed cars, and the ability to jump/climb, falling cannot be fixed. Usually hitting the ground under the map will kill you if its low enough. But again fall height on this server was made really large so there will be issues such as yours and glitchers firing under maps. Wells and such generally have trigger-hurt areas where if you touch it you are dead. However I will do some testing and see what I can do. I need to be able to fall under a map however so if anyone knows of a map where its easy to do this, and where, let me know.
  21. In the couple games I spec'ed this afternoon I saw many packages but only saw one mininuke. It got 3 or 4 people. Saw a few Reapers. One or two carpet bomb strikes. One ac130. A couple artillery strikes. Lots of cars obviously. Dont know how many were from care packages. Things seem pretty balanced to me but I will go through the math again to make sure there isnt anything affecting randomness. I added a game log entry to add all care package awards and will keep an eye on it. Given the fact that pretty much only those with low awards reroll to get higher awards there is a greater chance if getting something in the 5-6 kill range or more. They give up some pretty good perks to get the opportunity. So the question is, to get a reroll would you give up stopping power? Or Stealth? Or fast reload? Also considering that kills whie having those streaks increase streaks but hardpoint weapons do not?

  23. 6/24/2014: Bounty system uploaded and enabled. Played a few maps and no problems as far as I can tell. I will likely have to add exceptions to the rule for unusual situations. So if any pop up let me know what they are so I can see what to do about it. In case a camper is targeted, and his team wins the round, on the next round he will remain targeted until the bounty is collected. So the moral of the story is that minor camping is fine. Just dont be a douche and do it constantly.
  24. There is only one randomizer for care pacakage awards. It is used for both the first award and reroll.
  25. Three Dukes from care packages? The odds getting that award are 1 in 50 for the care package. 1 in 40 for the strike package.
