Currently, if you actually disable a streak entirely... either for that specific class or everybody... you should see a padlock next to it. The same one that is used by locked weapons and such. I might be able to add another that sets an X but will have to check out menu assets. Would that make things easier to understand for new players?

Set your screen to a widescreen pixel size (1440x900 others) and aspect ratio to auto. 1280 x1024 is not widescreen. -
People have the right to their opinions. Some will like the changes some will not. No different than when MW went to MW2 and then MW3. God knows what MW4, if there is one, will be like. Of course all those guys get paid for their work. But then again they all have to report to bosses that only care about the money. We dont and its about being creative, not making a buck. Anyways, if the majority thinks a certain perk is not too good then shut it off. If people dont like the bounty stuff then shut it off. If people dont like the ambient then shut it off. And so on. The menu had to be changed to enable gametypes that wouldnt work with the other one. Some changes are what we think are fun. Others for purely practical reasons. I hate to use a very old cliche but progress must progress. Otherwise we would all still be watching nothing but remakes of movies from the 1970's. Goodbye Avengers. Hello Captain Video. And beyond that like all other creative people we enjoy making new things. Doesnt mean people have to like them. But whether or not something goes in is not a popularity contest other than providing the ability to shut things off.

Wow, long paragraph. Lets see what I can answer before I head off to bed.... Before you can choose or pick classes you must be on a team. If you are not on a team (either axis or allies) then it just wont work. You must be on one or the other. If you go to spectate in the usual way tho your team is 'spectator'. I am thinking about how to deal with this in ftag if the last living player hasnt spawned but not sure how yet. The spectate thing is a server config problem. The mod does not touch that in any way shape or form. You pick weapons just the same as in cod4 so I dont understand what you mean. Its the same menu, with some extra stuff for the streaks. There are 10 classes so players can have two of each kind. Also done that way to allow for much more class customization for the servers that want to do it.

Ok I will fix that asap so that if a nuke has been called, including the 10 second countdown, no further defrosting will be allowed. Thanks.

I assume you are speaking of the newer mod. This is how it is supposed to work. You call it in. Each team has 10 seconds to find and kill the rest of the other team if they want to. Or not if they just want to give up and let themselves die. If this is an issue then the 'friendly' team should go hide so they dont get shot. After that the blast goes off and you lose all your weapons. So there is no way to make any further kills. Vehicles are immediately killed and they can make no further kills either. After that its however many seconds of radiation before that kills you. Yes it is supposed to kill everybody. But the winner is forced to be the team that dropped it. Also, just to be sure the owner of the nuke is always killed last. It may not look like that in the obit but in code he is. So in effect he is the last man standing. I dont quite understand the error. Are you suggesting a player being defrosted in between when the bomb actually explodes but before it kills everybody? It should ignore spawn protection but I will check that out to be sure. Has there ever been a situation where the owner of the nuke leaves the game before everyone is killed? I cant imagine why anyone would do that. Some may disagree about the enemy team having 10 seconds to find you. That extra time gives the enemy team that has nothing to lose to ignore all danger and rush to find the rest of you before they are all dead. Makes for an interesting last 10 seconds. The miniuke should work pretty good. The blast itself IS los like everything else. But if the blast wont get you the radiation can since it ignores everything. If the blast damage or radiation damage isnt enough talk to Rugger and he can make adjustments.

Interesting but whats the point? When you drop it you kill everybody on the other team anyways and win the game.

I dont understand what you have to explain, other than the killstreak one perhaps since its different. Everything else is standard obviously so I have no idea what is complicated about a system that has been around for years. The note I put at the top of the killstreak window should say it all. Select/deselect what you want. It pulses when the cursor is above it like every other button in the game. It is also based it on how BO does it, as much as I could do without running into menu asset problems, so it shouldnt be a new thing. As for why this menu, its because the other had too many incompatibilities with certain game types and the menu itself was entirely code based. Which is why it had so many problems earlier. Hide and Seek is one game type and that is the one I got the most requests for to get a menu working for it. I could probably get it to work with the old one but would need more code hacks to account for a lot of unique circumstances. And that would just open up a can of worms that I did not want to get into. But another reason if I can get it to work (dont know yet) is offline classes. Not possible with code based menus. Just not sure if it will accept 10 classes. For joining players tell me more how it is currently working. A player joins. Accepts a team. If the player decides to set classes before actually joining the game is the game still waiting for him to spawn anyways? If so that should be fixable. Never actually tried it but how does S&D handle that? I am really hoping this all works without problems because I would much rather spend my time playing this mod than spending more time coding it.

1: I will try out that map today and see what happens. Could be a number of reasons. If you know, are there any weapon pickups in a hidden place in the map? If so that will do it for any mod that has custom weapons. 2: Dunno what the server settings are. Waiting to hear whether or not I should add a change so when that happens the worst player in the game gets the credit, but doesnt count towards streaks. 3: I saw that. Also body armor is disabled. Time for the admins to have a pow-wow and check out the server settings. 4: I havent been able to reproduce it yet. What perks did you have? I dunno why it would be related but I cant discount anything.

Soapbox... I am highly biased certainly but in ways I equate arguments against ambient weapons... or maps with built in minefields... to claymores or betties. Or explosive barrels with timers that some maps have. Only difference is kill credit. Heavy rushers dont like having to deal with traps since it messes up their style. Which is the point. So IW/BO came to the crazy decision to cripple explosives down to 1 to make the rushers happy and so they would stop complaining. Believe it or not even then some still did. But I must remember that there are many others that think differently and should have the means to shut them off. Which is why mods are important. I did consider at one time that ambient weapons would credit the kill to the lowest player on one or the other team. Ambient weapons would be considered attacks called in by the commanders away from the battlefield. They would not count towards streaks.

Awwww.... I spent weeks and weeks to get those to work. You should leave them and keep the chaos. Just kidding. Even with all the work I added the custom options because not everyone thinks the same as I do. And in some gametypes, like sniper games, the weapon ones would be horrible but the emp/cuav would be good. Hope it makes the server more enjoyable.

I'll check out the silencer/rds thing. As I said, any of the ambient stuff can be shut off but its a great little adition that will keep you on your toes. And to expect the unexpected. But I will add a little part so that if in ftag and other objective games that if there is only one living player he wont be targeted. But... if you are on the other team where all of you are living hunting for that last player, you are all valid targets unless you have Stealth. If you are that last player I am sure you would welcome an ac130 shooting them up. As always, if it happens to you it sucks. If it happens to your enemies its great.

Hehe. Well I know exactly what would be required to change damage based on the map and it wasnt done. It is possible to have damage modifiers based on map name but I highly doubt Rugger did that. Unless maybe to get you all guessing or an early Halloween gotcha? Did either of you get the armor icon when hit? For the cp, was anyone frozen next to it? Anything else that looked unusual?

10 arrows????? That is wrong. It should be two. The server has an optional crossbow without the explosive tips that allows 10. Rugger can change that. No, damage doesnt vary map to map. What was wrong with the packages? One thing, whoever enters its proximity first is the only one that can get it until he moves away or is shot.

Weapons that are just model/anim changes.... ak47, m4, mp5 etc... are no different than their stock counterparts. There is no reason to screw with anything else so we didnt. Aug model is designed to work with both itself and hbar but the only real difference between the older aug ar and the newer one is the barrel length and the skin. Damage is set at the standard 30 (36 for hbar) to remain consistant with the purpose it is supposed to serve in relation to all other weapons in that class. It was incorrectly set at 40 on the older one. There are damage modifiers for every gun if this is a problem and you can go by majority rules and set the server configs to increase or lower the damage to whatver you think it appropriate. The ambient stuff does have randomness. Its power is %50... or less... than the streak versions. That includes range and damage. For the ac130 the fx bark is much worse than its bite. The purpose of ambient weapons is to throw in the unexpected. As with guns any or all can be shut off. People can say its unfair. But this is the fog of war not a bake sale. I am trying to be nicely political about all of this but every person has their own opinion about whether or not something is bugged or broken. In the end we balance everything as a full package. People can say such and such older gun was better. But then again if the 49ers could get away with 16 men on the line while everyone else couldnt they would think it was better also. That doesnt mean it was right.

That map has alot of custom models and wont work with bigger mods. Unusual since its a pretty typical map as far as file sizes go. -
The two-sided maps are hit and miss I think. I prefer big maps that use team spawn points that are not forced to the start ones only. The enemy might be in front of you. Might be behind you.

There was a small bug. Sending Rugger a fixed file. Tac nuke is still in the game but available to everybody and not part of the streak loadout. Depending on server settiings it can be 15 kills or 30. So all of you that are just itching to try it just make sure the server is set at 15. Accuracy and such has been discussed to death and it would just be beating a dead horse. Have not played the server so dunno what the health settings are and such. But hardcore is off by default and health is 100. The RC should defrost and will check that today to make sure.

I sent links to the most recent mod to Rugger for testing and assuming no issues up to him when and where to put it online. It doesnt suffer from that problem. In the mean time for that map if nobody used the acr the problem wouldnt happen. The times I played in the server I posted that several times so people would know and maybe change their loadout. But nobody listened and boom.
